Hi my name is Sean and I have 26 years of experience supporting individuals and family units navigate complexities in social functioning. . I have worked in child protective social work for many years and have experiences with adolescents, risk assessment, adoption services, and clinical service implementation. I have also worked in residential care in the past and have supported multiple adolescent aged youths.
I’m always eager to get to know clients and really enjoy building trust. I understand that everyone enters therapy at there on pace. I specifically respect one’s choice on how they feel comfortable beginning the process! while I understand the difficulties in opening up at first, I’ll always encourage communication so that relationships can prosper and clients receive the services they need.
I generally like to give clients the ability to share at their own desired pace but do feel compelled to push, when needed or when it will better serve the clients success. Professionally, I have worked in high stress situations which has supported my in the development of deescalation ..I have also worked iwith individual’s experiencing traumas and displacement of family members. I always enjoyed working with the adolescent population, including court involved youth.
I enjoy working with clients who are eager to improve their individual social functioning to support them and navigating relationships. Both in terms of family relationships, and their relationships with society. I have worked with many clients who have struggled with on and off incarceration as well as impatient hospitalization. This would include both adults and adolescents. I have a great deal of experience working with state agencies in clinical collateral as well.
I enjoy supporting clients in altering their perception so that they are better equipped to confidently improve their social functioning
