Hello! My name is Rachel Fondren and I am a licensed independent clinical social worker and private independent practitioner. I graduated from the University of North Alabama with a Bachelors in Social Work and from the University of Southern California with a Masters in Social Work. Over the years, I have worked with individuals on a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, parenting problems, career challenges, OCD, ADHD, and Serious Mental Illnesses.

I work with individuals to enable them to move their lives in a direction that they value. I use a variety of interventions and incorporate mindfulness-based practices as a foundation for my clients. I have worked with all age ranges yet currently, I see exclusively adults (18 and older). My background has allowed me to work extensively with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. My theoretical orientation is integrative and post-modern. I have substantial experience working with clients presenting with neurodevelopmental disorders, specifically. I also frequently do testing for ADHD if that is a presenting concern.

I have approximately 30 years of experience in virtually all clinical settings. I began my career working in a juvenile penitentiary (referred to as a 'youth development center) and after almost 6 years, left that setting and moved on to new opportunities. Along the way, I worked with group homes, foster homes, substance abuse treatment programs, and even provided treatment in a sexual offender treatment program. In 2004 I went solely into private practice and currently operate two offices. I also provided on-site services to businesses that suffer a death or other disruptive event; I have provided over 170 of these services in four states during the last several years. While you don't need any faith to see me, I also offer Christian Counseling. Finally, I am a US Army veteran and understand the challenges and needs of veterans. I operate under a practical approach that seeks to build on a person's strengths to achieve realistic, measurable goals. I utilize primarily cognitive behavioral therapy and reality therapy to help my clients achieve their goals and to live life more fully.

I am licensed in Kentucky and Florida with 10 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping individuals with coping with high stress careers/front line workers/emergency professionals, addictions, PTSD/ trauma and abuse, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, & LGBTQ related issues. Life has many challenges and no one heals the same way. If you are experiencing trauma let me reassure you- you will NEVER be expected to go over the details of the events that have affected you. We will work on your stressors and challenges in a way that will not leave you feel retraumatized or heavier. By meeting my customers where they are at I create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It can be difficult to talk about sensitive issues, but in a safe environment we are allowed to unload the pain and open up to healing. Demetria is a Louisville native and a University of Louisville Alumni. Her bachelors degree is in Political Science which she received from the University of Louisville in 2017. She later received her masters degree in 2020 from Lindsey Wilson College in Human Development, specializing in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Demetria is currently a PhD-ABD doctoral student at Capella University in Counselor Education and Supervision. Demetria is also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority incorporated. She was a 2023 nominee for 'wellness professional of the year' due to her continuous passion for serving her clients and supporting her colleagues alike. Demetria enjoys helping her clients identify the barriers in their journey to becoming their ideal selves. Then, assisting them with overcoming those barriers in most areas of their lives. Counseling can be a rewarding experience, and she is excited to be a part of her client's journey.
