(she/her)
Hi there! I’m SaMika. Many people see therapy as a one-sided conversation in which the “expert” talks to you and tells you what to do. What is the joy in that? I find joy in working with other experts to create solutions to great change- and guess what? You are the expert on YOU. I believe one of the bravest things someone can do is work to understand their own story. Whether it is healing from the past, managing the present or preparing for the future; with a collaborative, holistic approach, I want to help you achieve whatever life changes you desire to live the life you feel you deserve. Seeking a therapist can be a bit intimidating, but you have already taken the first step! I hope you will take a moment, reach out and see how I can help. Let’s work together!
During our first session, you can expect a warm, supportive, and judgment-free space where we begin getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping to change or better understand, and any questions you may have about the process. I’ll ask some questions to learn about your background, current challenges and strengths—but you’re always in control of what you choose to share and at what pace. We will also discuss how therapy works, confidentiality, and what sessions might look like moving forward. The first meeting isn’t about having everything figured out or diving into anything you’re not ready for; it’s about building comfort, safety, and trust. By the end of the session, we’ll begin identifying initial goals and decide together on next steps. My priority is for you to feel heard, respected, and supported from the very beginning!
We all are a sum of our experiences, so any time with me is a NO JUDGEMENT ZONE. I enjoy working with children, teens, adults and families, helping them find a sense of understanding and peace within themselves and their relationships.
If you are ready for change and ready to work toward a greater quality of life-I'd love to help you along your journey!
