New to Grow
Hello, I am Dennie Morrison, Jr., LPCC. I am a licensed mental health therapist with 21 years' experience working with children, adolescents and adults. I have a master's degree in mental health counseling with training in marriage and family therapy as well through Lindsey Wilson College. I have experience in working with individuals in treatments facilities, as well as community settings. My passion is to assist others in improving their quality of life through empowering them with necessary skills.
During our initial meeting one could expect rapport building, gaining understanding of the therapeutic process and identifying current concerns that have led to seeking therapy services.
As a therapist, I bring a therapy style of being person centered and solution focused. It is important to be firm, fair, and consistent in sessions when executing accountability to foster growth in others. I see myself as a seasoned therapist that has worked in a large variety of settings in the helping field. I also grew up in the military, as my father was in the Army. This has allowed me to be exposed to lots of different cultures and ethnic experiences in and outside of the Unites States of America.
My ideal clients would be individuals who are in invested in self-improvement and looking for help with real life situations. People who are in need of guidance in addressing obstacles and challenges in life that are impeding them from becoming the best version of themselves so they can have the best chance to be successful in life. My passion in therapy is to assist anyone in need of someone to talk to, needing help with conflicts in their life, needing help developing skills and plans for improvement to help them achieve academic, work and personal goals in their life.
I frequently use cognitive behavioral therapy practice to assist clients in identifying how thoughts, choices and emotions are tied together to lead to positive progress or regression of progress in relationship to their current quality of life or current situations.
I tend to use Solution Focused Brief Treatment with clients that are most interested and invested in committing to a more direct treatment to address current life problems, conflicts and therapy goals. Clients that tend to be more focused on goals and what steps are needed to get to desired results.
