I will help you see yourself but in such a nurturing way you receive it, and it allows you to do your work. My gifting is in assessment and working with adults and couples. I have always worked in some form of mental health assessment in my career. Most recently I spent 5 years in Grady’s Psychiatric ER. Allowing me to quickly assess needs and develop a life plan with the client. Couple work is also a skilled area for me. Especially when communication has broken down evidenced by constant arguing. Therapy can break couples out of the destructive tit-for-tat cycle. Broken trust, infidelity and unforgiveness are also areas I specialize in. Women’s concerns and issues are important to me. I’ve done extensive work in healing their “father wound”. Tapping the spiritual relationship for healing. Topics include relationships, self development and growth. Another very successful service is my therapeutic walkthrough of popular books. Titles have included RC Blakes’ Queenology and Sophia Nelson’s The Woman Code. Currently, I am authoring The Majestic Woman Mindset, which comes from a woman’s empowerment curriculum I developed. I am a bilingual LCSW with over 10 years of experience working in the human services field; focusing on mental health, behavior, and non-profit work. I grew up in Los Angeles, Ca., completed my Master of Social Work at Fordham University in the Bronx, NY., and currently reside in Ocala, Fl. As an LCSW I treat clients from across the lifespan with varying therapeutic needs by applying an integrative approach to treatment. Some of my areas of experience include treating family systems and individuals navigating intergenerational trauma, parents and children dealing with challenging behavior, neurodivergent populations, and individuals with a desire to better understand themselves and the maladaptive behaviors causing distress, mood issues, and anxiety. Areas of specialty include working with young adults navigating life after high school, parenting individuals/partners, and those who identify as Latina women struggling to balance relationships, family, individual needs, and independence. I believe that everyone and their experiences are unique, this is why I meet clients where they are in their life journey, empowering them to find and enhance solutions and coping skills that meet their needs. Although I am trained in CBT and DBT these interventions are only a part of my integrative approach to treatment. Client-centered care remains at the center of treatment; as there is not one single intervention that is best for all. Welcome to Kairos Counseling and Consulting LLC. Im Carmen, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) in the state of Pennsylvania. I received my masters degree in counseling psychology from Chatham University. Impacting individuals and families; helping them to experience resilience, growth and transformation through difficult experiences and life transitions has continued to be my primary motivation. My clients are usually self-aware, observant, strong, intelligent, and sensitive; desiring the skills or motivation to move forward. But also may feel overwhelmed, ashamed, anxious, depressed, self conscious and/or defeated. My role in your journey will be to assist you in managing physical, emotional and experiential symptoms that have kept you stuck, process distressing experiences and envision a future grounded in hope.
