LCSW, 16 years of experience
Are you struggling with a major transition? Life can certainly throw us some curve balls. Although you may feel overwhelmed or discouraged, things can get better. I specialize in helping people deal with big events like grief, illness, caring for a loved one, and divorce. These changes might contribute to anxiety, self-doubt, or depression. These challenging times can be exhausting, and it’s key to take care of yourself. With the right help, you can heal and even thrive. More and more people are understanding that mental health support isn’t a luxury, but a necessity that we all deserve. I keep up with the most effective therapies so that I can provide you with the best care possible. I also recognize that your situation is unique, and you have your own struggles and strengths. We will tailor your care to where you’re at, and what you need at this time. I am dedicated to supporting you however I can, through evidence-based therapy, education, and resources. I offer flexible appointments online, through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. If you’re ready for the next step, let's schedule an initial consultation. I look forward to seeing how I can help.
In our first counseling session, you can expect a calm, collaborative conversation where we simply get to know one another. I’ll guide you through a psychosocial assessment, which is just a structured way for me to understand what’s been going on in your life—your strengths, stressors, support system, and anything else you feel is important to share. There are no “right” answers, no pressure to disclose anything before you’re ready, and no judgments. My role is to listen, help you feel comfortable, and create a safe space where you can move at your own pace. By the end of the session, we’ll have a clearer sense of your initial goals and how we can work together to support your well-being.
Most of my experience lends itself to working with clients who are dealing with life transitions such as grief and loss, breakups or divorce, caregiving, changes in schools, challenges with friendships, aging, moving and other situations which bring understandable difficulties and trouble adjusting. I also practice trauma informed care and have a good deal of experience in helping people process trauma.
Teens, Young Adults, Adults, Elderly My focus is supporting people who are navigating anxiety, grief, or depression related to life transitions—providing a space where they feel understood, validated, and equipped with practical coping strategies to move through change with greater clarity and resilience.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns that may be increasing stress, worry, or sadness and gently explore more balanced, realistic ways of thinking. CBT is practical and collaborative—we work at your pace, focusing on tools you can use in everyday life to reduce anxiety, manage grief or overwhelm, and build confidence during life transitions. My goal is to help you feel supported, empowered, and equipped with strategies that truly fit your needs.
I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques to help clients build greater awareness, emotional balance, and resilience. Through skills like mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation, we focus on staying grounded in the present moment, navigating intense feelings with more clarity, and responding to stress in healthier ways.
I use a person-centered approach, which means our work together is grounded in empathy, genuine connection, and deep respect for your lived experience. You set the pace and the focus, and I provide a nonjudgmental space where your feelings and perspectives are truly heard. This approach supports you in strengthening your own insight, resilience, and capacity for growth, allowing you to move toward healing in a way that feels authentic and empowering.
When a client wishes to incorporate their faith or spiritual beliefs into therapy, I weave those values into our work in a way that feels natural and supportive to them. This may include exploring how their beliefs provide comfort, meaning, or guidance during difficult times, or integrating faith-based practices—such as prayer, meditation, or scripture reflections—if the client chooses. My role is not to direct or define someone’s faith, but to honor it and help them use it as a source of strength, resilience, and grounding throughout the therapeutic process.
I use grief therapy to create a safe, steady space where clients can process loss at their own pace. Together, we explore the many layers of grief—emotional, physical, and relational—while honoring the significance of what or whom was lost. I help clients understand their unique grief responses, navigate waves of emotion, and find ways to stay connected to their loved one or the life they’re grieving while also rebuilding a sense of grounding in the present.
