Hello, my name is Ogechi and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Southern California. I received my Masters from California Baptist University, and I have been working in the behavioral/mental health field for about 8 years. I enjoy helping teenagers and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, effects of trauma, self-esteem, and life dissatisfaction.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will talk about how you’ve been feeling recently, what brings you to therapy, and your expected outcomes for treatment. We will also establish rapport and brainstorm goals to address your presenting problems.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths as a provider include my light-hearted but goal-directed approach with a focus on highlighting clients’ strengths and helping them envision their best self. I enjoy uplifting and empowering my clients to see the value in their lives and their abilities to change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I enjoy using CBT as a primary approach to assist clients with transforming negative thoughts and behaviors. Together, we will process emotions and challenge unhelpful patterns that interfere with our daily living, confidence, and life satisfaction. This interactive approach allows us to work collaboratively to develop healthier perspectives and effectively manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In my practice, I use DBT to assist clients with navigating intense emotions and improving their relationships, following traumatic/life changing events. With this approach, we will focus on practical skills like mindfulness, learning how to regulate our emotions, and managing stress in difficult situations, making therapy both engaging and effective. Our goal will be to find balance, increase motivation and seek value in the life worth living.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

With Person Centered therapy, I strive to create a warm and supportive space where clients feel validated and valued. We will focus on your unique experiences and strengths to explore methods towards personal growth. This approach is effective for clients looking for a non-judgmental space to work on self-awareness, self-esteem and inner healing.

Positive Psychology

I enjoy using Positive Psychology to help clients focus on personal strengths and ways to show up as their best self. We will incorporate mood-boosting activities, strategies for self-growth and improve overall mental well-being. This approach will help us foster an environment to build a meaningful and purposeful life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

With Solution Focused Brief Therapy, I will dedicate our short time together to finding individualized solutions to daily life stressors. This approach also focuses on strengths in order to empower clients to solve their problems and make positive changes in their lives.
