Oh, hey! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I received my Masters from the University of Phoenix and have been practicing for just about 5 years. I bring a fun-loving approach to therapy, often drawing on my passion for anime and gaming to connect with clients. Down to earth and friendly, I like to sprinkle humor into our sessions, creating a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere where healing and growth can grow.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will introduce ourselves, review necessary paperwork, and see what is on your mind. I'll ask a few questions to get to know you better and understand your hopes and goals for therapy. Think of it as the start of our journey together. It is also an opportunity for us to gauge the energy and see if we're a good match — if not, I can provide referrals to other professionals that might better suit your needs!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my greatest strengths as a provider lie in my laid-back yet professional demeanor and my commitment to being non-judgmental. I create a supportive environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself and exploring your own narrative. My approach allows you to take the lead in discovering insights and solutions, empowering you to shape your own journey towards growth and well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have found Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to be a transformative method in my work. Negative symptoms, such as anxiety and depressive symptoms, can be rooted in negative self-perceptions. CBT allows us to identify and challenge automatic negative thoughts which can lead to more positive emotional and behavioral responses and improve overall well-being.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have introduced Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them. Using interventions focused on mindfulness and behavioral changes, ACT can help to accept inner experiences and commit to actions that align with your values. Through ACT you can lead a more meaningful life despite daily challenges.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful tool I use for treating trauma and distressing memories. By using bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, EMDR helps to process and integrate traumatic experiences. EMDR can help you to reduce the emotional charge of memories, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and improve well-being.

Somatic

I find combining EMDR with Somatic Therapy approaches to be highly effective in treating trauma. EMDR helps process and integrate traumatic memories through bilateral stimulation, while Somatic Therapy focuses on releasing stored tension and trauma from the body. This combination addresses both the emotional and physical aspects of trauma, leading to deeper healing, reduced emotional distress, and improved overall well-being.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

When appropriate, I will use Parts Work from IFS to help clients to identify, understand, and heal various internal parts of their system.
