I'm a husband, a new father, and an uncle of 5. These are the things I'm the most proud of in my life and they help shape who I am as a person and a therapist. I spent decades helping people with their physical health before transitioning to psychology. I've learned over the years that in order to unlock our highest level of functioning, we have to create a lifestyle that is dedicated to both our mental and physical well-being. My practice objective is to help you create and sustain that lifestyle.
The first session tends to be a lighter, more casual conversation where I can get to know you and your history. We will also discuss goals and the best ways I can support you.
Relatability. I try my best not to come across as a superior, know it all clinician. I'm proud of the knowledge I have accumulated during my academic journey, but I'm a long way from having it all figured out. I'm a human being and can often relate to things my clients experience. I believe it creates a healthier relationship between the two of us and a more relaxed environment.
I haven't found many people I don't work well with.
CBT is one of the foundations of my practice because, in my opinion, it's one of the foundations to self-discovery and improved daily function.
Solution focused is great for our modern day, fast moving society that wants and needs solutions quickly. My style of solution focused therapy often resembles coaching because of my long history of coaching and training.
Person-centered is a great representation of what your time in therapy with me will feel like. I view the therapeutic relationship as the most important indicator of success during the treatment process, and the person-centered approach creates the perfect environment for that.
