First of all, I love what I do and to witness the positive changes clients make in their lives as a result of choosing therapy to help them accomplish what they want. Often the goal is to achieve symptom relief so as to not be overwhelmed by anxiety, mood disorders or be better able to manage the challenges of ADHD. Sometimes there is not a specific outcome identified but a need for ongoing support for dealing with life transitions or difficult people. Sometimes clients use therapy as a confidential sounding board where they can talk to an objective outsider about situations and sort out their perspective. I offer various ways to see and respond to situations that might otherwise not be considered. Your opinion as a client is the most important one and I will also honestly provide mine when asked for. I believe therapy can actually be something that you can look forward to and an opportunity to learn new skills to use long after you discontinue, and we can even have some fun and laughs along the journey.

In my practice, I utilize an integrative approach that draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities. My toolkit includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients identify and change negative thought patterns; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which focuses on building skills for emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness; Person-Centered therapy, which emphasizes empathy and unconditional positive regard; Solution-Focused therapy, which concentrates on finding practical solutions to present challenges; EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is particularly effective for trauma processing; and Psychoeducation, which empowers clients with knowledge about their conditions and coping strategies.
Born and raised in the inner city by a single mother and a large extended family, I noticed the needs of those that were mentally or physically diagnosed were often not met. Therefore, I began to inquire about what I needed to do in order to be a part of the solution. I began to work in the field and I have worked in Behavioral/Mental Health for close to 20 years. My experience covers a plethora of ages and diagnosis across many settings. My determination to treat and support those with mental health diagnosis during the pandemic inspired me to perform outpatient therapy via telehealth to adults and adolescents. I specialize in adults 25-55 with various diagnoses but primarily Anxiety, PTSD, trauma and Depression to name a few. I love to utilize CBT, CPT, trauma informed care (TIC) and Motivational Interviewing as treatment modalities.
