New to Grow
My name is Bridgette Williams, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner with experience providing counseling for individuals facing substance use, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, anger management, and life challenges. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives. My goal is to help clients develop healthier coping skills, improve emotional well-being, and build confidence as they work toward personal growth and recovery.
During the first session, clients can expect a supportive and welcoming environment focused on getting to know them and understanding what brings them to therapy. We will review important information such as confidentiality, expectations for treatment, and discuss current concerns, stressors, symptoms, goals, and personal history. The first session is also an opportunity for clients to ask questions, share what they hope to gain from therapy, and begin building a comfortable therapeutic relationship. My approach is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and focused on helping clients feel safe, heard, and supported throughout the counseling process.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is my ability to combine compassion, honesty, and practical strategies to help clients create meaningful change. I work to build strong therapeutic relationships where clients feel safe, respected, and comfortable being themselves without fear of judgment. I utilize evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, and person-centered therapy to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My approach focuses on helping clients develop healthier coping skills, improve emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, and build confidence in managing life stressors and relationships. Clients often appreciate that sessions are both supportive and goal-oriented, providing a balance of emotional processing, accountability, psychoeducation, and practical tools that can be applied in everyday life.
I am best positioned to serve adults who are seeking support with anxiety, depression, substance use, anger management, trauma-related concerns, stress management, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. I work well with clients who may feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, struggling with unhealthy coping patterns, or trying to better understand themselves and improve their overall quality of life. I especially enjoy working with individuals who are motivated for change, even if they are unsure where to begin. Many of the clients I serve are seeking healthier coping skills, improved emotional regulation, increased self-awareness, relapse prevention support, stronger communication skills, and greater confidence in managing daily stressors and relationships. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other evidence-based approaches, I help clients identify negative thought patterns, challenge self-defeating beliefs, and develop practical strategies that support emotional healing, personal growth, and long-term stability.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in both individual and group counseling settings to help clients identify and change unhealthy thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviors. I have utilized CBT interventions with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, anger management concerns, trauma-related symptoms, low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties. My experience includes helping clients recognize cognitive distortions, improve emotional regulation, develop healthier coping skills, increase self-awareness, and strengthen problem-solving abilities. I have incorporated CBT techniques such as thought reframing, cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, trigger identification, coping skills development, journaling, and psychoeducation to support clients in making positive behavioral and emotional changes.
