About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience providing therapy and case management in both outpatient and community-based settings. My approach integrates evidence-based and trauma-informed practices, including CBT, TF-CBT, and attachment-based therapy, to help clients build resilience, self-awareness, and healthier relationships. I speak both English and Amharic and value the importance of diversity, cultural humility, and representation in the therapeutic process. I strive to create a supportive, inclusive, and culturally responsive space where individuals and families can heal, grow, and connect with their strengths.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my goal is to create a comfortable, supportive space where you can share what brings you to therapy at your own pace. We’ll talk about your goals, explore what’s been challenging, and begin identifying the areas you’d like to work on. I’ll also share more about my approach so we can decide together how therapy can best support you. The first session is about connection, clarity, and beginning to build trust.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths lie in creating a calm, authentic, and culturally responsive space where clients feel seen and supported. I bring deep experience working with trauma, anxiety, and relational challenges, and I use evidence-based methods—such as CBT, TF-CBT, attachment-based, and family systems approaches—to guide meaningful, lasting change. Clients often share that they appreciate my ability to balance compassion with practicality: helping them feel emotionally safe while also developing concrete strategies to navigate life’s challenges. I value collaboration, curiosity, and empowerment—supporting each person in discovering their own resilience and capacity for growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals and families who are ready to explore patterns that no longer serve them and are seeking a safe, supportive space to heal and grow. I work well with children, adolescents, and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, or life transitions. Many of my clients are also adjusting to cultural, family, or identity-related challenges and want to strengthen their emotional resilience and relationships. Whether you’re beginning therapy for the first time or returning after a break, I meet you where you are—with compassion, collaboration, and deep respect for your unique story.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I integrate attachment-based principles to help clients understand how early relational experiences influence current emotions, coping styles, and relationship patterns. Together, we focus on creating a safe and trusting therapeutic space that allows for healing, self-awareness, and the development of more secure, fulfilling connections with others.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and actions. By learning to recognize and shift unhelpful patterns, clients gain tools to reduce anxiety, depression, and stress while developing a stronger sense of control and confidence. I have over 10 years of experience utilizing CBT.

Family Therapy

My family therapy work is grounded in systemic and attachment-based frameworks that view challenges within the context of family dynamics and relationships. I support families in improving communication, resolving conflict, and fostering emotional safety and connection across generations. I have received extensive training in family systems approaches and have provided family therapy in both outpatient and community-based settings, helping families navigate complex emotional, behavioral, and environmental challenges.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I incorporate Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support children and adolescents in understanding and processing the effects of trauma within a structured, compassionate framework. This approach integrates cognitive-behavioral and attachment-based principles to reduce trauma symptoms, enhance emotional regulation, and strengthen the child’s sense of safety and empowerment. I am a certified TF-CBT provider and have applied this model in both outpatient and community mental-health settings with youth impacted by trauma and adverse experiences.
