When counseling, I look at the whole person not just the current situation. I take time to get to know you and understand your situation and/or concerns. I treat all my clients with the utmost respect and compassion. I use motivational skills to help my patients see their strengths and help them create achievable goals. I believe in breaking the big goal into smaller goals that lead to meeting that larger goal. I believe this creates positive reinforcement for my clients and improves their emotional health, during what could be a difficult time in their life. I look forward to helping you improve your mental health, one step at a time. I have 6 years of experience working with depression, anxiety, bipolar, addictions and co-occurring.

Hi! I'm Jasmine and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that has been practicing therapy for 6 years. I obtained a Bachelors in Psychology in 2010 at Eastern Michigan University and completed my Master of Social Work at Johnson C. Smith University, graduating in 2017. Do you have a hard time with change and life transitions? Do you feel overstimulated and unable to ground yourself? Do you feel isolated or "different" from everybody else? Are you exploring your identity, sexuality, or self-image? Are you seeking a therapist who can provide an atmosphere where you feel comfortable enough to vent, find relief, and explore your story– however unconventional it may be? Do you crave a space where you can find yourself or be encouraged to be the expert on your life while being held accountable for your goals? If you want to live a life that aligns with your values or true identity while communicating and reinforcing your boundaries, I can help you get there. Together, using strength-based and person-centered therapy with a psychodynamic touch (and a healthy dose of humor), we can partner and begin your journey to building the confidence to be who you are and enhancing your strengths. Finally, feel self-assured in your value and speak up for what you want in your life, relationships, and career. If you’re ready to build a happy, thriving life while being true to yourself, let’s chat today. I come from a military family that has been located throughout the United States, allowing me the opportunity to meet people from varying cultures and backgrounds. This has contributed to my ability to become more culturally competent and open-minded when working with different clients. When I’m not in therapist mode, I’m... Either out and about on the town attending open mics, enjoying brunch, having fun at concerts or at home watching the Food Network, cartoons, dramas, and comedies.

Welcome. I will challenge you (with your permission), laugh with you and expect you to come with a goal and be willing to be actionable about whatever homework you decide to try. If you aren't prepared for a little challenge to your thinking, you aren't engaged in our counseling process. It's okay to be unsure, but not to believe anyone can make things better without your effort. Paying for someone to say you're right 100% of the time may feel good in the moment, but there is no growth in the comfort zone and no comfort in the growth zone.

First of all, I love what I do and to witness the positive changes clients make in their lives as a result of choosing therapy to help them accomplish what they want. Often the goal is to achieve symptom relief so as to not be overwhelmed by anxiety, mood disorders or be better able to manage the challenges of ADHD. Sometimes there is not a specific outcome identified but a need for ongoing support for dealing with life transitions or difficult people. Sometimes clients use therapy as a confidential sounding board where they can talk to an objective outsider about situations and sort out their perception of situations. I offer various ways to see and respond to situations that might otherwise not be considered. Your opinion as a client is the most important one and I will also honestly provide mine when asked for. I believe therapy can actually be something that you can look forward to and an opportunity to learn new skills to use long after you discontinue, and we can even have some fun and laughs along the journey.

My hopes are to be a soft place to fall when discussing life's challenges, difficult topics, painful thoughts & dashed hopes. As a 'young at heart' woman in my 50's, I'm a survivor of many of life's unexpected difficult high & low roads filled with detours, switchbacks & gotten lost trying to get myself over life's mountains. As a daughter, sister, friend, girlfriend, wife, mother, homemaker, older student, divorcee & ultimately becoming a compassionate solution-focused strength's based therapist after learning how powerful talk-therapy is. I'm familiar with life's sudden wake-up calls w/missed signs, getting comfortable & days/weeks become months/years w/o noticing how I'd drifted into patterns that didn't take into consideration my own wants, wishes & needs. I've been there. We all have histories where we made good, bad, convenient & self-defeating decisions based on what we knew. We've also been alongside others who may have done the same & negatively impacted you on your journey. Experience & wisdom can be incredible teachers. Understanding our truths of 'how-when-what-how-why' of it all can be the glue that sets us free from repeating/role-modeling what hurt/deterred us most. My innate curiosity, successes & failures has led me to find the honest answers I needed most and why I became a therapist. I earned my License as Clinical Social Worker with a focus on Adult Mental Health & Addiction. I've honed my passion, purpose & skills to help shorten the learning curve & needless suffering of those facing the slippery slopes when life's difficult moments/transitions were around corners we couldn't see.

I have experience working with various populations through my employment with Social Services, The Division of Prisons, Camp Lejeune Military Base, Outpatient Treatment Facilities, and as a State Certified HIV Case Manager. This quote I believe in as I feel it speaks to purpose and being born on purpose and not by mistake. I work with a client to build a therapeutic rapport as I feel this to be essential to making therapeutic gains. I embrace the elements of unconditional positive regard, being authentic and genuine, and empathy to help build that therapeutic rapport with a client. I currently offer in-person sessions only at my office in Abingdon, Virginia. I'm Rebecca, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP), and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) provider. I specialize in working with young women and LGBTQ+ individuals navigating complex trauma, addiction, and nervous system overwhelm. My practice is intentionally focused on clients who feel stuck, disconnected, or burnt out from traditional talk therapy. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based practices like EMDR, DBT, and CBT. I bring deep respect for the ways we learn to survive—and a gentle curiosity for what healing might look like when survival mode softens. Sessions with me are collaborative and honest, and I strive to create a space that feels safe, nonjudgmental, and attuned to your unique needs. For clients who feel blocked, numb, or unable to access deeper parts of themselves, I offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy as a complementary option. In partnership with Journey Clinical, I provide preparation, dosing, and integration sessions for clients who are medically cleared for ketamine treatment. KAP isn’t a magic fix, but it can help open emotional pathways that traditional therapy sometimes can’t reach on its own. Healing with me isn’t about figuring out what’s “wrong” with you—it’s about understanding what happened to you, and how your system learned to adapt. The work we do together is about coming home to yourself with compassion, safety, and a sense of agency.

Hi there! My name is Cristyl and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. I have worked in a variety of settings throughout the years to include public schools, an inpatient psychiatric facility, the criminal justice system, and virtual mental health sessions. Populations I have assisted in their journey to mental health and wellness include college students, adults, and the elderly; physically handicapped, intellectually disabled, emotionally disturbed, and seriously mentally ill. My life experiences have molded me into a genuinely empathetic clinician who is able to connect with clients and help to empower them as they heal and grow. I am also a mother and hold a full time position in a state job, so my clients will be asked to be flexible with me from time to time. I return flexibility to them with respect, as I will explain in the first session.

My name is Bethany Gravely. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2018. I continue to feel the same passion for my job now as I did when I first started. I am so proud of you for taking the first step to talk about your mental health. Choosing the right therapist can be a rewarding experience, but also scary. It is my job to help you navigate the stressors of life and explore different ways for you to cope with them. We all experience stress on some level so your feelings are valid and worth discussing with someone who truly cares! My style of counseling allows for you to be in charge of your therapy. If you want helpful reading material, evidenced based practices, solutions or just a listening ear, my goal is to help you with where you are today. You are not a burden. You are not undeserving. You are not broken, or a mess to be cleaned up. You are so endlessly enough. When I’m not working, I am spending time with my husband, our two little ones, our 3 dogs, and our cat. We just recently bought a 40 acre farm and spend our free time making it our forever home! We are hopeful to bring in larger farm animals in the upcoming years and learn to homestead!
