I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with almost 15 years of experience working with individuals with a variety of issues. My expertise is in mood disorders like anxiety, bipolar disorder and also ADHD. I have a passion for prenatal and postpartum women as well as young adults struggling to adjust to 'adulting'. I am solution focused, relatable as I am also human with my own faults and struggles, realistic in a kind way, and I am cheerleader pushing you to be the best version of yourself.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together I will ask a lot of questions to better get to know you and your goals for therapy. I will share my experience and discuss how I like to structure my sessions. I love to set goals together. I am a big fan of giving homework assignments as well. Those assignments could be journal prompts, taking a self-care day, keeping a mood log, or even drinking more water. It is all dependent on what you are trying to achieve with my support.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as provider is that I do not judge. I do not give advise based on my own belief system. I am a life long learner and genuinely interested in hearing about people's experiences. I love connecting with people and finding commonalities amongst us. I am patient. I go at your speed. I am knowledgeable but I also encourage your own exploration and learning.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with individuals that are newly diagnosed with a mental health diagnosis or are navigating the world of psychiatric medications as I able to provide knowledge and support. Being newly diagnosed or trying to figure medications can be overwhelming and daunting. I also enjoy working with mothers who are juggling the competing demands of being a mother, wife, an employee, and remaining at balance with herself. Finally, I enjoy working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, or ADHD and want to learn coping skills and create positive habits and behaviors to combat those diagnoses.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I provide a space to discuss current obstacles and barriers to your success. I encourage individuals to look at things from multiple angles and think of ways to regain peace and balance.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I support individuals in developing self-awareness with their internal dialogues. Not all thoughts are healthy thoughts. Positive self talk is more healing than most people realize.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I am trained in DBT informed therapy focusing on increasing self-awareness on emotional triggers and how to self soothe to regain logical mind and clear thinking.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing in a powerful tool that creates an environment where I guide individuals to assess their own readiness for change. It creates opportunities for those 'ah ha' moments and personal insight.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation is perfect for an individual who was recently diagnosed with a mental health diagnosis or someone who is wanting to learn more about medication and treatment options.
