Hello! I am Amanda, counselor of 15 years, wife of 17 years, and mother for 10 years and counting. I have been a resident of the North Austin area for the last five years and am a Texas native, though I did spend some time growing up in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. I am active in my son’s school, my church and my community which I am happy to call home.
I have worked in domestic violence shelters, residential programs for children, with Child Protective Services, and in Private Practice.
For many years I have had the privilege of joining my clients in the process of change. We go through so much in our lives. Love, loss, stress and anxieties shape who we are. I respect the courage that it takes to look at these things and seek growth and change.

Hi there, my name is Shawn Taylor. I'm here to help!
Are you angry due to unmet needs and expectations?
Are you struggling with work/life balance in your relationships, work, and health?
Do you feel anxious and fragmented about the life narrative you’re creating thus far?
Do you feel you’ve developed unhealthy habits and maladaptive behaviors due to underachievement?
Throughout my professional lifespan, I’ve interacted with various individuals—distilling the common denominator among those battling life challenges is that most individuals are motivated at the core to find solutions for behavioral and lifestyle changes. However, most lack the logistical “know-how” to resolve Internal Family System disorders caused by trauma, addictions, anger, and anxiety to effect permanent change within their lives. I’ll help you accomplish this by drawing on my professional background spanning over 20 years as a Criminal Justice Investigator with the Houston Police Department, Career & Technology Educator with Spring ISD, and independent Mental Health Practitioner.
I earned my MA in Counseling Psychology from the Houston Graduate School of Theology in (2014). I hold licensures to practice professional therapeutic services in the State of Texas as a:
• LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor under license #73416)
• LSOTP (Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider under license #99449)
• LCDC (Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor under license #12929)

My name is Caitlin Leeper and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a licensed chemical dependency counselor (LCDC) with years of experience in addiction recovery and dual diagnosis, as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy certification. I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in 2020 with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. It is a true passion of mine to create a safe and accepting space for people to feel and process what is keeping them trapped in patterns and cycles they want to escape. Working together with clients, I hope to help them develop healthy coping skills to make positive choices for themselves and their healing and recovery.
As a counselor, I've worked in an acute inpatient center, treating addiction with co-occurring disorders, and have extensive experience with the 12-step model of recovery. As a lead therapist in a substance abuse intensive outpatient program, I've facilitated both group and individual counseling with a trauma-informed approach. Utilizing techniques borrowed from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), I treat clients from a holistic, client-centered perspective. I believe everyone has a unique life experience–physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. With that in mind, I provide each client with an individualized approach to healing to address their unique needs.
In my experience, I've worked with clients with substance use disorders, trauma, PTSD, codependency, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, personality disorders, and grief.

Do you feel that you have not discovered your purpose in life? Do you feel that life has handed you some obstacles that are unmanageable? Do you struggle with setting boundaries and self-care?

Most individuals benefit from working with a qualified and experienced therapist to assist with identifying their problem areas and finding effective solutions to resolve personal issues.
I follow the basic principles of the “golden rule,” which is to always treat others the way we would like to be treated. Hello! Thanks for visiting my profile. My name is Libby, and I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience working with adolescents and adults representing some of the most vulnerable populations. Preference for individual/adults.
As a Black female therapist, and on my mental wellness journey, I recognize the huge stigma connected to addressing mental health treatment in Black and Brown communities. Several barriers contribute to the gap in mental health care, including a lack of cultural representation among providers, an overwhelming sense of fear of sharing personal history with a stranger and being stigmatized by family or friends. The biggest obstacle is silence!
Unfortunately, many are suffering alone, giving way to unhealthy generational patterns, like anxiety, depression, and PTSD (to name a few). My goal is to interrupt these negative patterns by creating space for healing and rewriting your story.

Have you ever looked at your reflection and wondered who you are? Do you ever feel lost or wonder where you are headed? CONFESSION -- I have. I realized later in life that my calling was to become a therapist. I received on-the-job training, long before I went to college, through my own experiences as a mother, wife, friend, colleague, and personally, as an individual with depression and anxiety. These experiences helped prepare me for my role as a therapist. My own struggles have enabled me to better connect with my clients. Just like my clients, I looked for a therapist to talk to, one who would listen and understand where I was coming from. Finding a therapist can be a challenge. The challenge involves talking to a complete stranger about your life while discussing some of the hardest times of your life. From personal experience, I know the gains that can be made in therapy and the road to self-discovery.
Treatment Focus
I have experience working with a wide variety of populations and specialize in helping adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and bipolar disorder. My primary approach in working with clients tends to be person-centered along with cognitive behavioral therapy. Core beliefs are areas of focus I encourage clients to explore. Oftentimes, individuals may not recognize how their thinking patterns have affected numerous areas in their life. I help clients to conceptualize the life that they want and consider the action steps to make that life happen. Yes, therapy can take time and effort, but if the payoff is discovering the best version of yourself, then is it not worth it?
Patient Promise
One thing that I can ensure, is that I will provide a safe space for you to discover beliefs. Beliefs that you may have about yourself and the world around you. I am passionate about helping individuals explore who they are and what they want. If you are ready to begin this journey, I would be honored to work with you.

I know that you would prefer a therapist who can understand your reality and what you experience during a regular day. As a therapist, I am interested in the mental health of healthcare professionals of all stripes, as well as their significant others. I have worked in these environments, and I understand the stressors which lead to burnout, compassion fatigue, and breakdown in relationships. My unique experience has been supporting veterinary professionals, animal welfare professionals, and rescue or sanctuary volunteers and employees. As you know, these are difficult jobs both physically and emotionally, and your experience is often misconstrued and misunderstood.
I was a professor of social work for 23 years, and I continue to supervise social workers toward their clinical licensure. I have guided at least 40 social workers in 3 states in this way, and so I am sometimes considered the "therapist's therapist." During my activities in teaching and supervision, I continued to provide therapy to clients with various concerns, so that I continually learned and became current in many approaches and techniques. I have taught, published, and presented at conferences a great deal in the areas of grief and bereavement as well as mental health in the healthcare field, especially that of veterinary professionals. I have also participated in and published about the impact and mental health concerns during and after natural disasters, including the current pandemic and several hurricanes.
So if you are looking for a mature therapist who can empathically respond to your unique situation, I would love to meet you.
