’ve felt called to become a therapist since I was nine years old, and that sense of purpose has stayed with me ever since. I began my career in a community mental health setting, where I worked closely with individuals experiencing severe mental illness and learned the importance of practical, real-life coping skills. That experience continues to shape my approach today—I focus on helping clients build insight, develop tools they can actually use, and feel more confident navigating their relationships and daily lives. Outside of therapy, I enjoy slowing things down and staying grounded through gardening, crocheting, and camping. I’m also a big reader—especially when it comes to romance novels. Family is a central part of my life, and I value the many roles I hold as a wife, mother, stepmother, and grandmother. Raising both boys and girls—including twins—has given me a wide range of life experiences that help me connect with clients from all kinds of backgrounds.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll go over important details like confidentiality and policies, then spend time getting to know you and what’s bringing you in. We’ll talk about your current challenges, your history, and any past therapy experiences—what helped and what didn’t. If time allows, we’ll also start identifying goals and introduce a few coping strategies so you leave with something useful right away.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With over 10 years in the counseling field—including eight years in community mental health—I’ve had the opportunity to work with clients from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of concerns. That experience has strengthened my ability to meet people where they are and adapt therapy to fit their individual needs. I’m a Certified Adult ADHD Specialist and also hold a “Food is Medicine” certification, which allows me to take a more holistic approach by considering both mental and physical wellness. I believe these pieces are deeply connected and can play an important role in overall healing and functioning. Clients often tell me they appreciate my conversational, down-to-earth style. I aim to create a space that feels natural and comfortable—where you can talk openly, feel understood, and know you’re supported without judgment. My focus is on helping you gain practical tools, build insight, and make meaningful, lasting changes in your daily life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adults who are ready to gain insight, develop practical tools, and make meaningful changes in their lives. I work best with individuals who are motivated to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a supportive, collaborative space. I have extensive experience supporting clients dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, grief, life transitions, postpartum challenges, family issues, and spiritual or existential concerns. I’m especially effective for clients who want a therapist that combines evidence-based approaches like CBT and Motivational Interviewing with holistic, faith-informed perspectives and personalized coping strategies. Clients who thrive with me are open to self-reflection and are looking for achievable, structured goals while also valuing a warm, conversational, and nonjudgmental approach. Whether the goal is improving relationships, managing stress, navigating life changes, or building confidence, I help clients take practical steps toward lasting growth and meaningful fulfillment.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I hold a Master’s degree in Christian Counseling and incorporate faith into therapy in a way that aligns with each client’s personal beliefs. For clients who desire it, I integrate Christian principles, values, and spiritual insight into the therapeutic process, using faith as a source of strength, guidance, and healing alongside evidence-based practices.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful patterns and work on developing more balanced, realistic ways of thinking. I focus on practical strategies you can use in everyday life to manage stress, improve mood, and feel more in control.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is about meeting you where you are and helping you tap into your own reasons for change. In sessions, I guide conversations that help you explore your goals, weigh options, and strengthen the motivation you already have—so the steps you take feel realistic and sustainable.

Psychoeducation

In sessions, I often bring in psychoeducation—teaching you about how your mind and body respond to stress, mental health challenges, or life transitions. Understanding what’s happening inside yourself can make it easier to cope, make decisions, and try out new strategies that actually work.

Adlerian

In sessions, I draw from Adlerian therapy, which looks at how your past experiences and relationships influence the way you think, feel, and act today. Together, we’ll uncover patterns, explore your strengths, and set goals that help you feel more connected, capable, and fulfilled.
