Go from Trauma, Chaos & Emotional Pain to a Life Filled with Joy, Healthy Boundaries & Healing “If it ain’t one thing, it’s another.” “It’s always something.” “I just can’t seem to get ahead.” These are just a few of the defeating statements we often utter when our circumstances don’t match up with our expectations. And a lot of the time, it’s because of some trauma, struggle or problem that is overwhelming us. It’s hard to manage stress when your personal challenges, past trauma or relationship chaos are preventing you from living the life you’ve always dreamed of. Add on the daily struggles of being a Black man or woman in America, and those problems can seem insurmountable. Whether you’re suffering from past trauma, chemical dependencies, dysfunctional relationships or sexually intrusive behaviors, the bottom line is this: There are few safe spaces for people of color looking for nonjudgmental, straightforward, yet caring mental health advice on how to approach these challenges, so they stop disrupting daily life. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “therapy” and “mental health” are taboo words in our community. That’s because therapy has been historically colonized and not personalized for your unique challenges as a person of color. I’m here to change that. I’m Elizabeth McCoy, the Transformation Therapist. I’m trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Brainspotting. All from DECOLONIZED lens. Translation? No matter what barriers or blocks are keeping you from living your best life, I’ve got the well-rounded POV, deep training and know-how to help you reclaim your joy, set healthy boundaries and heal in a space designed just for you! If you’re ready to trade trauma and pain for happier relationships and a better quality of life, schedule a consultation with me so I can show you how: << YES, SHOW ME HOW TO TURN MY PAIN INTO POWER!>> by booking your first appointment!

Hi there, I'm Parag. You were not put here on this earth to suffer. You deserve to live your life with happiness and peace of mind. Mental illness and addiction can rob anyone of these precious gifts. When you turn to family and friends for support, often they don't know what to say or how to help. You can end up feeling very alone in the world. No one wants to develop mental illness or addictions. You didn't do anything wrong. Feeling emotionally numb, mentally overwhelmed, or having thoughts like "I just don't want to be on this earth anymore" are not things that people willingly choose for themselves. They are illnesses. We often get sick through no fault of our own. Just like some people get diabetes or heart disease, some people get mental illness. Working over five years in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, I have helped patients overcome symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, phobias, relationship problems, and self-esteem issues. My approach is to get to know you as a person and work on addressing what is really going on with your mind and your life right now. I know getting therapy can be scary, but I will do everything I can to help you feel heard, understood, and genuinely cared for. Give yourself a chance to have peace of mind again.

My praxis acknowledges and aims to support the village needed by all.  I’m also passionate about the transformative impact of safe and brave spaces for those who often experience exclusion. My career has afforded me opportunities to build trust with LGBTQ+, Black, Indigenous, Latina/o/x, and Refugee communities across the nation. It is a personal privilege to center wellness and holistic care for all as ‘self-care is a radical form of resistance.’ Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, trauma, PTSD, self-acceptance, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion, empathy and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!

My name is Jonathan Closner and I have been providing therapeutic and clinical counseling services to clients for over 15 years. I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and also a nationally certified counselor (NCC). I hold dual a dual masters in mental health counseling and marriage and family therapy. As a therapist I utilize clinical interventions and techniques that are individualized to unique issues of the client. I have extensive training and experience in evidence based treatments such as cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). In addition, I am also trained in sex therapy and incorporate sex positive approaches with clients. In my experience I find that an integration of clinical modalities is often most effective and appreciated by clients. Overall I approach my work with clients from a strength-based perspective. I believe that clients possess the strengths and resources within their lives to be successful in overcoming the challenges and problems that they face. These challenges come in the form of mental health problems, relationship issues, or other stressors that arise out of life circumstance. My commitment is to use the most appropriate techniques and interventions that allow clients to resolve problems, reduce symptoms, and increase personal strengths and skills for dealing with these issues in the future. Clinical areas of experience and expertise include the treatment of depression, anxiety, personality disorders, sexual problems, sexual orientation, LGBTQ issues, relationships and sex, alternative lifestyles, and substance use disorders. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you. You may schedule online or if you have further questions about scheduling please reach out!

Recognizing the need for help is an important first step. In fact, rather than acknowledging a weakness, it is a sign of strength. I want to help you to build on that strength to achieve success in the areas you are struggling with. Specializing in relationship dynamics, I invite individuals, couples, and families to improve communication, resolve conflict, and build skills to manage anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and more. Christian counseling, men's issues, and family roles are additional areas of special focus I provide. I believe in personal responsibility, the reality of options at your disposal, and your ability to make decisions that are good for you with clarity. Ownership results in liberty. I would be working with you to help things make more sense and see a path forward.

Since 2000, I've dedicated much of my professional career as a life coach. In 2016, I began my journey to become a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in assisting individuals in managing their challenges. My approach integrates both intellectual and emotional aspects to support clients effectively. Using CBT, TF-CBT, and Motivational interviewing techniques, I provide structured, goal-oriented processes while focusing on achieving specific therapeutic goals. Addressing the needs of individuals who have experienced trauma by reducing symptoms of trauma-related disorders, such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety, among children, adolescents, and their families. Concentrating on helping clients explore and resolve ambivalence about change, the collaborative and client-centered nature effectively enhances motivation, promotes engagement in treatment, and supports clients in making meaningful and sustainable changes in their lives. Please contact me today to schedule a consultation.

The human experience is not something that always works based on logic. Our brains are wonderful tools that can occasionally get stuck in a survival mode that leaves us feeling helpless and terrified. We can become stuck logical loops, anxious cycles, helpless before the fear of the unknown, or in a dark depression that stops us from continuing our previous goals and fun hobbies. Our past can be a reason for this. Sometimes it might be recent events at just the wrong time. It can even be a combination of small things that seemed to always shift never going away. My philosophy of treatment is to teach my clients how mind and body work so that they can make their choice in how they choose to live and interact with others. I am trained in EMDR, hypnosis, and IFS and apply all in working with PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression and for pain management from physical illness. A person's mind is like a garden, cultivated or left to it's own devices it will always grow. When carefully tended it is a thing of beauty, but if left alone it is a mess of weeds. In understanding the thoughts and beliefs you have about the world and how you can shape them, you can learn to thrive. With a new perspective you can change everything.
