Hi, I’m Brandy Brodnax, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship stress, and major life transitions. I have experience in intensive outpatient and crisis settings, supporting clients through high-stress and complex seasons of life. My approach is warm, supportive, and structured I want therapy to feel safe while also giving you practical tools you can actually use. I help clients build coping skills, strengthen boundaries, and feel more steady and confident in managing stress. If you’re ready for things to feel different, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll simply start with you and what’s been on your heart or mind. There’s no pressure to have everything organized or figured out we’ll take it one step at a time. I’ll ask a few gentle questions to better understand what’s bringing you in and what you hope might feel different. My goal is to create a calm, welcoming space where you feel comfortable and supported. By the end of our time together, we’ll have a clearer sense of what you need and the next small steps forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about your therapeutic approach, methods, or results? One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe being open and honest about their experiences. I take a practical and collaborative approach to therapy, combining evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused strategies to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I focus on helping clients build real-life coping skills, strengthen boundaries, and develop healthier patterns that support long-term emotional stability. My experience working in intensive outpatient and crisis settings has also helped me feel comfortable supporting clients through complex challenges while remaining calm, structured, and solution-oriented.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adults and adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, stress, grief, or major life transitions. Many of the individuals I work best with are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward, but they are open to gaining insight and learning practical tools to improve their well-being. I work well with clients who want a supportive and non-judgmental space to process their experiences while also developing healthier coping skills, stronger boundaries, and greater emotional stability. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, build resilience, and make meaningful changes that support long-term mental and emotional health.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

In my practice, I will use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore their thoughts and feelings about change in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. I will use open-ended questions, reflective listening, affirmations, and summaries to better understand each client’s experiences and perspectives. My goal will be to help clients identify their own motivations for change and recognize how their current behaviors may be affecting their goals, values, and overall well-being. By supporting their autonomy and highlighting their strengths, I will work collaboratively with clients to increase their confidence and readiness to make meaningful changes in their lives.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I will use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. I will work with clients to identify negative or unhelpful thought patterns that may be contributing to issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, or substance use. Together, we will explore these thoughts, challenge distortions, and replace them with more balanced and realistic perspectives. I will also help clients develop practical coping strategies, identify triggers, and practice new skills that support healthier behaviors and emotional regulation. Through this structured and goal-focused approach, I will support clients in building healthier thinking patterns and improving their overall well-being.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In my practice, I will use Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients identify their strengths and focus on practical solutions rather than dwelling on problems. I will guide clients in exploring times when their challenges were less intense or when they were able to cope successfully, helping them recognize skills and resources they already possess. Together, we will set clear, achievable goals and identify small, realistic steps that can move them toward positive change. By focusing on progress, strengths, and future possibilities, I will support clients in building confidence and developing solutions that improve their overall well-being.
