Hello, my name is Peggy Bissing and I am licensed professional counselor in Texas, Missouri and Alaska. I am a licensed chemical dependency counselor in the state of Texas and Mental Behavioral Telehealth Counselor in Idaho. I have often told my client's that my soul's purpose on earth is to prevent suffering and to help people live happier lives. I am excited to assist you on your healing journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I review all intake paper and generally explain the types of therapeutic techniques. Since I use brain-based therapies it's important for client's to be informed and have ample opportunity to ask questions. Then, I review the client's presenting problem or the reason they are coming to therapy. I allow client's to talk freely about their concerns and expectations about therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a therapist is my broad area of experience. I worked as a school counselor, special education teacher, parole officer and probation counselor before starting my private practice. I have worked with homeless populations, visually impaired and children in residential treatment centers. I believe my scope of experience allows me relate to all of my clients life situations.
