EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals process and resolve distressing memories and experiences. It uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements or alternating tapping, to support the brain’s natural healing process. EMDR helps reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic or overwhelming experiences while strengthening more adaptive beliefs about oneself. This structured approach is effective for trauma, anxiety, depression, and other stress-related concerns, allowing clients to experience relief without needing to repeatedly relive the event in detail.

I am originally from the Dominican Republic where I first graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology. From an early age I was called into the mental health field in a society where mental illness was stigmatized and a forbidden topic. This calling and life mission led me to spending decades studying Neurosciences, Psychology and Trauma Treatment. I hold a Master of Science degree in Neurosciences and a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as Certifications in Trauma Treatment and advanced trainings in EMDR Therapy, IFS therapy, Contextual Therapy, among others . Understanding the human experience with trauma, pain and loss and witnessing how through therapy healing is possible, has been the seal of a lifelong legacy. As a psychotherapist I practice a holistic and integrative approach and work mainly from a psychodynamic, trauma informed and neuroscientific and systemic perspective, based on the evidence of how trauma impacts the body and brain, and the awareness that in order to create lasting change and heal trauma wounds we must create insight and integrate past and present while establishing a secure connection with ourselves and in relationship with our significant others.
It is now my honor to be your therapist. As your therapist it is my goal to guide you through your journey of internal growth and lasting healing.
As a seasoned professional specializing in trauma-informed care, I recognize the profound impact that life experiences can have on someone’s over well-being. My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based clinical modalities with a deep respect for each individual’s unique journey. I approach each client with the understanding that no two stories are the same and that therapy must be tailored to honor the individuality of your experiences. Utilizing evidence-based practices with respect for each individual’s journey, I support clients through healing the emotional and historical roots of conflict. With expertise in substance use, relationships, and trauma, I support understanding how unresolved pain, unmet needs, and inherited patterns shape daily life and connection.
