About me

Hi, I’m Zyeshia, a licensed clinical social worker with over 10 years of experience in behavioral health. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, ADHD, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and feeling overwhelmed or stuck. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel heard and accepted, where you can show up authentically without having everything figured out, while gaining a better understanding of the patterns, emotions, and experiences that may be affecting your life. I draw from approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, and behavioral strategies, tailoring therapy to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you’re looking to manage difficult emotions, improve relationships and boundaries, work through past experiences, or simply feel more in control of your life, we’ll work together toward changes that feel meaningful and realistic for you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin identifying what you would like to get out of therapy. We’ll talk about what has been bringing you stress or concern, what has and hasn’t worked for you in the past, and the changes you would like to see. You don’t need to have everything figured out before we meet. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, current challenges, and goals, while giving you space to share at a pace that feels comfortable. We’ll also begin discussing what our work together might look like and identify some initial areas to focus on.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a balance of empathy, curiosity, authenticity, and, at times, humor to sessions. I’ll give you space to process your experiences without judgment, but I’m also an active therapist who will ask questions, help you notice patterns, and gently challenge you when it may be helpful. I believe acceptance and growth can exist together. Therapy can help you better understand how your experiences have shaped and influenced you, while accepting who you are and exploring what may no longer serve you. Together, we’ll work on practical ways to navigate challenges, build skills, and make choices that feel more aligned with the life you want. My experience across a variety of behavioral health settings allows me to adapt my approach to the person in front of me. You can expect sessions to feel collaborative, supportive, and focused on what matters most to you. After all, you’re the expert on you.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client doesn’t need to have everything figured out. You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected, or simply aware that something isn’t working the way you’d like it to. You may be navigating trauma, ADHD, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, or experiences that are affecting how you feel, function, or move through your daily life. You don’t need to come to therapy knowing exactly what you want or how to get there. We can figure that out together. What matters is a willingness to explore your experiences, better understand how they may be impacting or influencing you, and work toward ways of navigating life that feel more manageable and meaningful to you.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help you make room for difficult thoughts and emotions without allowing them to control what you do next. We may explore what matters most to you, practice staying present with uncomfortable experiences, and identify actions that move you toward the life you want to live.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help you recognize patterns in how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we’ll explore which patterns may be keeping you stuck and develop practical ways to approach situations differently.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I incorporate DBT skills to help you manage intense emotions, tolerate difficult moments, communicate more effectively, and navigate relationships and boundaries. We’ll focus on skills you can practice and use in your everyday life, not just during sessions.

Motivational Interviewing

Sometimes you know something isn’t working but still feel unsure about what you want to do differently. I use motivational interviewing to help you explore that uncertainty without judgment or pressure, clarify what matters to you, and identify changes you feel ready to make.

Strength-Based

Therapy doesn’t have to focus only on what’s going wrong. I’ll also help you recognize the strengths, skills, resources, and successes you already have and explore how we can build on them as you work through current challenges
