New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have worked with individuals and couples seeking counseling for over 9 years, both online and in private practice. It will be my pleasure to have the privilege of working with you. In providing psychotherapy my goal is to support and empower Clients to resolve concerns/challenges and to gain skills to use going forward. I offer a confidential and safe space where you can feel comfortable discussing your concerns.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In the first session- We will discuss -Confidentiality- What is private and what are the legal exceptions (danger to self/or others, child abuse, dependent adults, elder abuse). My role and Approach\I will explain briefly the therapeutic style I use. -What you want out of therapy -Your history -Your main concerns. -Goal setting and Treatment Plan discussion -I will answer any questions you may have at this time.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am welcoming, warm and empathetic. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space. My strengths include active listening -I like to communicate in a clear and honest manner so there is total transparency. I use evidence based approaches such as CBT, Mindfulness and trauma based therapy. I support Clients in identifying triggers and teach coping skills and grounding exercises. Generally Client describe me as easy to talk with, non judgmental, supportive and that I help them feel understood.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
In my practice I work with Clients who have concerns and challenges including experiencing anxiety, depression, low self esteem and establishing health relationships with self and other. The goals of therapy are determined with both the Clients and Therapist-it is a collaborate effort-, be it reduction in symptoms of anxiety , depression, self acceptance and acceptance of others, using healthy boundaries and providing tools to achieve goals.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness for 9 years. I have found that both these therapies help Clients identify their concern( self identified presenting problem). Thus allowing for a therapeutic approach that targets and works with resolving or coping with the the identified concerns.
