I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in both PA and NJ. I have been in private practice since 2001. I work with ages 15 years and older and I LOVE my career. I work with teens and young adults who are transitioning and have seen these clients through the entire process of not being accepted by peers and, very sadly family, to life incredible full lives. I have a past client's wedding to go to in May :) I get to witness my clients come to live the lives they've always wanted and I'm a small part of that. I absolutely love my job.

In both my personal life and professional experience I have come to understand the struggle of when life gets so overwhelming that you know something needs to change, if only you knew where to start. It can be scary and disempowering but with guidance it’s possible to make changes that will feel exciting and empowering. I am skilled working with teens and young adults who are just starting to explore themselves and their place in the world, women, men and families navigating changes (becoming parents, parenting support, fertility struggles and adjusting to their new roles, etc), spiritual exploration, adjusting to life changes, managing interpersonal relationships, managing the expectations you’ve set for yourself and finding who you want to be when you grow up. It’s so easy to think that we’re stuck in the situations we find ourselves in but I promise you that you can rewrite your story. Our time together will be an hour in your week where you can drop your mask in a safe space without fear of judgment. By allowing yourself to feel all your feelings we can break down whatever is holding you back to help you to build confidence, find clarity and the direction you’ve been searching for. I’m excited for us to get started.

I am originally from Boston, but I spent 20 years in Chicago. In July, 2021, I moved to New Jersey with my family. I am married with four children. I love spending time with family and friends. Some of my favorite activities are going to the beach, riding my bike, traveling, reading, watching sports, cooking with my husband, and sharing a meal with loved ones. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and my Master's of Social Work Degree at The University of Michigan. I have been working with children, families, and adults for over 20 years. I have worked in juvenile detention, schools, private practice, and as a home-based therapist. Most of my experience has been working with clients who are struggling with mental health concerns, such as Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, ADHD, and Psychosis. I have also worked extensively with clients who have experienced relationship issues, trauma and abuse, and interpersonal conflict. I believe that my role as a therapist is to listen and understand the needs and motivations of my clients. Once there is understanding of the client's goals, then we can work together to help him/her/them get there and conquer obstacles that may be getting in the way. I typically use Cognitive Behavioral strategies to work with clients on changing problematic behaviors and thought processes. I approach therapy through a Humanistic lens that examines all of the systems in one's life and how they are working/not working for that client. My style is warm, open-minded, and supportive. However, I also believe in honesty and the need for direct communication. Asking for support is a brave first step in working to create the life you want to live. I'm excited to work with you on this difficult, but rewarding journey!

Life transitions, relationships in flux, maybe you haven't felt like yourself recently. Navigating hard emotions that keep you up a night, or preoccupy thinking, might be holding you back from enjoying activities and relationships you once did. Reasons for seeking therapy are unique and individual to you. You are deserving of a therapist who will build a space for you to be vulnerable with your story and emotions. Together, we can build a path forward through empathetic processing, acceptance, skill building, and goal planning. Therapy is like a compass, it doesn't provide all the answers, but it provides direction. Focusing on your strengths, presenting problem, and future goals, our time together will be spent targeting false thoughts, realizing potential, and building trust in yourself.

Therapy is about opportunities and possibilities. Opportunities and possibilities are done with exploration, discovery, and destinations. I am the guide helping someone realize those opportunities and possibilities as I support the individual through their own exploration, discovery and destinations. This is done with a focus on the individual and not the theories. I am not a “one technique fits all” type of practitioner. I am someone who uses creativity and flexibility to help connect with the individual. Therapy is about the relationship with the individual. Without a healthy therapeutic relationship, the goals the individual wants to achieve in therapy will not be obtained. Therapy is about you, not theories. Those who I support life problems of all shapes, sizes and descriptions. I do the typical MH disorders and symptoms but my focus supporting others goes way beyond the typical. What problems that aren’t diagnosable, that are not symptomatic however painful, nevertheless. Therapy is about opportunities and possibilities. I’m a warm, insight-oriented therapist who offers a steady, compassionate space for adults navigating grief, relational wounds, and the impact of growing up around emotional chaos or inconsistency. My approach is grounded in deep listening and curiosity—I help clients slow down and make sense of their inner experience, uncovering patterns that may have once been protective but now feel limiting. Together, we create room for new ways of relating—to yourself, to others, and to your story. Healing, in my work, begins with being deeply seen and understood.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is skilled in numerous modalities that includes both EMDR and sensorimotor therapies. My specialties go to the root of the problem and finds the silver thread or in therapeutic terms the neurobiological network that connects the negative beliefs inherent in all the trauma the patient experienced. In addition to my trauma training I earned my RPT (registered play therapist) and I have extensive knowledge of child development and counseling children and adolescents. I am willing to counsel adolescents online but children younger than 12 must be seen in person.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by New Jersey rather than a city like Newark?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across New Jersey from Jersey City to Paterson! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in New Jersey.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
