Feeling lost, overwhelmed, or stuck is a deeply human experience. I believe that all people, children and adults alike, carry an inner wisdom that we sometimes fall out of touch with. As your therapist, my role is to help you reconnect with and nurture that innate knowing. If this is your first time in therapy, know that it’s okay to feel unsure. You don’t need to have anything figured out to begin, just come as you are and we will start from there.

Hello, I am Shari. Are you looking for someone you can feel safe to address your needs and not feel judged? Are you looking for someone authentic and supportive? Are you having difficulty finding someone who will be honest and direct? I work well with anyone who is motivated to start addressing their concerns right away. I believe finding the right therapist can be challenging, but it should not be a barrier to getting help. Finding a therapist should feel comfortable and natural. I am told I have a way of helping people feel as if they have known me before. I like to get an understanding of the source of your problem. Then together we explore how the source influences your thinking. People live life through their experiences which do not always serve us very well in today's time. I also believe in working from a holistic approach. Did you know our daily routines can prolong your recovery or cause mental instability? I have experienced being in a therapeutic relationship and believe in normalizing the need to get help in this way.

Hi. Welcome to my Grow professional profile! Do you ever wonder, "What is going on."? If your inner dialogue is saying, "Yes that's me, exactly, finally somebody who gets it!" I believe that nobody actually has it all together, but that there are those that pretend like they have it all together but inside feel like an imposter making it day by day and those that don't pretend and are also making it day by day. I like spending time with my husband of many many many years and our 3 children, but mostly my dogs. I enthusiastically invite both those who are high functioning and those who are not functioning persons seeking to improve their overall wellbeing. I don't judge whether you are an LSU fan or a North Carolina fan. All can benefit from mental health services. (maybe one group of fans over the other). My current specific areas of clinical interests are of grief and pregnancy loss of which I constantly explore new treatment approaches and client experiences. I have over 25 years of clinical experience working with diverse classifications of diagnoses, ethnicity, ages, and cultural backgrounds. The most frequent symptoms I can help with are managing ADHD, Depression, Bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma, parenting, burnout, insomnia, COVID trauma, grief, and anger. I utilize a mix of CBT and motivational interviewing low key with a fair amount of optimism because CBT helps measure things and motivational interviewing is more people-friendly. FYI I am an experienced LPC-S licensed by the LA licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners 3997. I am also a board approved supervisor in Louisiana. I am a LCMHC in the state of North Carolina (LPC) 19111. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!

Hello! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing mental health therapy services in Louisiana and Texas, with over 14 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people during some of their most vulnerable and life-changing moments. These experiences have shaped my understanding of how personal, relational, and cultural factors intersect in our emotional well-being. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, seen, and heard. My goal is to help you find balance, process challenges, and empower you to persevere—even when life feels overwhelming. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship struggles, or simply feeling stuck, we’ll work together to uncover your strengths and create meaningful change. My approach is genuine, down-to-earth, and rooted in authenticity. I strive to create an environment where you feel encouraged to be your true self. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Instead, I meet you where you are, tailoring our sessions to meet your unique needs and goals. I hope that this personalized and honest connection keeps you engaged and motivated in your healing journey. Whether you are seeking support for the first time or returning to therapy after a break, I’m here to provide thoughtful guidance and compassionate care. If you’re ready to take the next step toward growth and healing, I’d be honored to work with you.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Louisiana rather than a city like New Orleans?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Louisiana from Baton Rouge to Shreveport! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Louisiana.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on ADHD?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, ADHD, is filtering therapists in Louisiana that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
