Hello! I’m Damien, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Louisiana and Texas with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Louisiana Tech University. Since 2016, I’ve been dedicated to helping individuals improve their mental health. I specialize in addressing anxiety, self-esteem, depression, life transitions, focus issues, and overcoming challenges. My approach is grounded in changing thought patterns to shift perspectives, and I aim to create a professional yet relaxed environment where clients feel supported. It’s a pleasure to meet you!
Our first session will be very laid back. My purpose is to get to know you as a person, learn some history, and gain a better understanding of any issues you want to discuss so that we have an idea of what we're going to work on as sessions go forward.
I've been in the mental health field for 10 years. I've developed as a therapist and continue to work on building my understanding, skillset, and ability to relate to my clients. My goal is to always provide my clients with a safe space where they aren't fearful of being ridiculed or feeling insulted because of their past. We've all made mistakes and have parts of us that we would rather not face, but I like to promote taking accountability for mistakes and growing from them.
Having personally experienced ADHD and anxiety, I understand how stress can make even the smallest tasks feel overwhelming. I take a laid-back, nonjudgmental approach to create a safe space for clients, making it easier to discuss challenges. My goal is always to listen and truly understand my clients, offering support tailored to their unique experiences. I also enjoy working with Men on promoting new perspectives and encouraging emotional intelligence and expression.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in order to assist my clients by introducing them to new perspectives and differents way of interpreting situations that cause stress and anxiety. This is my main course of treatment as I believe that our thought processing effect our feelings and anixous and can determine how we react and interact with others.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing is another ways I try to help clients with improving their way of thinking and being able to build motivation in order to complete tasks and help themselves with resolving issues.
