New to Grow
Hello, I’m Vinyette Morell, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 12 years of behavioral health experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, stress, emotional challenges, and life transitions. I believe therapy works best when clients feel safe, understood, and supported while also gaining practical tools they can use in their everyday lives. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, dealing with persistent stress, or simply ready for personal growth, therapy can provide a space for healing, clarity, and progress. My goal is to help clients build resilience, develop insight, and move forward with greater confidence.
In our first session, clients can expect a welcoming and collaborative conversation focused on understanding what has brought them to therapy and what feels most important to address right now. While I will gather relevant background information, I also believe it is important to begin identifying current concerns, patterns, and goals early so that our time together feels meaningful from the start.
I see therapy as an active and collaborative effort rather than a one-sided process. While insight is important, I also believe clients benefit most when therapy helps them build tools they can use outside of sessions. My goal is to help clients feel understood while also creating forward movement, greater self-awareness, and measurable change over time.
I am best positioned to support clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional overwhelm, difficulty managing stress, relationship challenges, or feeling stuck in patterns they want to change. I work well with individuals who want practical tools to better understand their emotions, improve coping, and make meaningful progress in daily life. Throughout my clinical work, I have provided diagnostic assessment, individualized treatment planning, crisis intervention, and ongoing therapeutic support across diverse populations.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My therapeutic approach is supportive, practical, and goal-oriented. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, strengthen coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and create meaningful behavioral change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I also incorporate therapeutic techniques informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which is a structured, skills-based form of therapy. It is designed to help clients strengthen emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. While traditional talk therapy often focuses primarily on processing experiences, DBT places greater emphasis on learning concrete strategies that clients can actively apply outside of sessions. I am currently in the process of obtaining my national DBT certification. I have completed DBT training and incorporate these evidence-based techniques when helping clients manage intense emotions, improve responses to stress, and develop healthier patterns of thinking and behavior.
