As a therapist, I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation, not a lecture, interrogation, or a checklist. My approach is supportive, honest, and focused on helping you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected so you can start making changes that actually stick. I create a space where you can be open about what you're going through without feeling judged, but I’ll also ask thoughtful questions, point out patterns you may not have noticed, and help you look at situations from new angles so we can figure out what’s actually keeping you stuck. In our work together, some sessions may focus on building coping skills or setting goals, while others may be about processing experiences and gaining clarity. I try to meet clients where they are while still helping them move toward meaningful progress. If you’re looking for a therapist who is supportive but also honest, engaged, and focused on helping you grow, we’ll likely work well together.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is mostly about getting to know each other and understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about the concerns or challenges you’re currently facing, how long they’ve been going on, and how they may be affecting different areas of your life. This conversation helps me get a clear picture of your experiences and what kind of support might be most helpful for you. We’ll also spend some time discussing what you hope to gain from therapy and any goals you may have moving forward. The first session is just as much about you getting a feel for me as it is about me getting to know you. My goal is for you to feel comfortable asking questions and deciding whether the space feels like a good fit. As part of the intake process, I will also ask a few questions related to safety and well-being so we can ensure you’re supported appropriately. By the end of the session, we’ll usually have a clearer understanding of your needs and begin discussing possible next steps for our work together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a therapist, I try to consistently move clients toward behavioral change and practical steps by way of identifying patterns, reframing thinking, goal planning, and communication and boundary work. I aim to help clients connect the dots between their experiences and responses, while developing practical strategies for change. I balance supportive conversation with honest feedback, helping clients gain clarity, improve emotional regulation, and make meaningful progress toward their goals.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I primarily work with adults who are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, depression, or difficulty managing their emotions. Many of the clients I see are navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, or patterns of reacting in ways that create conflict or distress in their daily lives. I aim to create a comfortable space where clients can explore their experiences (past and present) openly while developing practical strategies to manage stress, improve relationships, and build healthier patterns that support lasting personal growth and stability.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT in a practical, conversational way to help clients slow down and examine the connection between what they are thinking, what they are feeling, and how they are responding in their daily lives. Rather than focusing only on theory, I work with clients to identify the patterns that keep them stuck, such as negative self-talk, assumptions about situations, or automatic reactions to stress. From there, we challenge those thoughts, look at alternative perspectives, and practice small behavioral changes that can shift how they approach situations. The goal is to help clients develop awareness of their thinking patterns and build more effective ways of responding to stress, relationships, and life challenges.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

When I use DBT-informed strategies, the focus is usually on helping clients manage intense emotions and respond to situations in a more intentional way. I often integrate skills like mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotion regulation into sessions to help clients slow down their reactions and build better control over how they respond when they feel overwhelmed, angry, or triggered. I also use DBT to help clients improve communication and boundaries by teaching practical interpersonal skills that allow them to express needs clearly while maintaining relationships. My approach tends to focus on helping clients understand their emotional responses while also building the tools they need to handle difficult situations more effectively.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I integrate person-centered principles by creating a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and personal experiences openly. I emphasize empathy, authenticity, and collaborative dialogue to help clients gain greater self-awareness and clarity about their goals. Rather than directing the session, I allow clients space to process their experiences while offering reflective feedback and guidance that supports their ability to identify solutions and make meaningful changes in their lives.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I incorporate solution-focused therapy strategies to help clients identify their strengths, clarify personal goals, and focus on practical steps toward meaningful change. Rather than focusing solely on past problems, sessions emphasize recognizing what is already working and building on those successes to create forward progress. Clients are encouraged to explore their existing resources, develop achievable goals, and implement small, manageable changes that support improved coping, problem-solving, and overall functioning in their daily lives.
