Hello I am Edna. I have lots of experience and information to share regarding support and management of mental health symptoms. I work with each individual as an individual; unique to your style and identified needs. I am supportive and positive. I help identify your strengths to help you reach your goals. I believe you have strengths and a purpose. I am client focused, trained and experienced in more than twenty counseling theories and practices. Let's work together to create the structure for your journey to healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will check for compatibility. We will get to know each other. We gather information and a plan for the further sessions. Talk about limits and boundaries, what has worked well for you and what hasn't worked so well. Symptoms will be discussed and a plan to address those symptoms which are distressing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength are identifying your strengths and providing you with the right balance of support. I am patient and positive.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

I have 30 years experience working with trauma and trauma informed services. Childhood trauma is the red string that travels though life and brings with it additional disorders that mask the real issues. I am trained to spot this mask and help reveal and address the issues behind it.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Connecting your thoughts with your behaviors and framing it from your experiences, helps life and your decisions to make sense. This framework is important to understand but embracing a new skill to manage your thoughts and behaviors is life changing.

Christian Counseling

I have 20 years experience with this treatment. I share Christian principals to support those who ask for Christian support. No preaching or judging, just support and acceptance. Spirituality is about the relationship you have with God, Self and Others.

Strength-Based

I am an advocate3 of strength based positive psychology. Your strengths have made you a survivor rather than a victim. Sometime it is unclear how strong you really are and how much ability you already carry. I love to help clarify!

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

This method helps you move from process to action. The structure and assignment extend from treatment into day to day living. I have been specifically trained in this area of care and its application.
