Hello, I'm Ashleigh. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from New Orleans, LA. I received a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Southern University at New Orleans, with concentration in Health and Mental Health. Over the years, I've primarily gained experience within the areas of health and mental health. Some of the settings I've worked in are hospitals, skilled care/rehab, inpatient mental health, and in crisis intervention.
During our initial consultation and first few sessions, I'll need to ask questions in order to learn more about you, essentially the 5 Ws: Who are you - tell me about yourself What do you wish to gain from therapy? What are your goals? When? Is there a timeframe that you'd wish to accomplish your goal Where are you in the process? Is this your first try at therapy? Are you returning to give it another try? Why? Why now? Lastly, let me know how I can best support you. Are there any preferences, spiritual/religious preferences, or accommodations that I need to be aware of?
I consider myself to be an open book - easy-going, genuine, non-judgmental. I've been told my greatest strengths are integrity, compassion, and caring for others. I tend to utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, because therapy is not one size fits all.
I've helped people navigate some of the hardest times of their lives. For some people, its processing a life-changing diagnosis. For others, its managing stress or starting over. By providing patience, support, understanding, guidance, and encouragement, I can help you navigate hard times as well. No two clients are the same. We will collaborate to identify your needs and formulate an individualized treatment plan -one that will work for YOU. I'm open to incorporating a variety of approaches to attain our therapeutic goals.
