We're all living life for the first time. It is full of twists and turns. When we think we have it all figured out....we don't. I bring support and comfort to those difficult phases in life when we're transitioning into something new, becoming more of who we want to be. These changes can be hard and scary at times but with the right support you can navigate them. Anxiety. depressions, transitional phases, parenting, women's issues are my areas of expertise. Identifying and utilizing the strengths you already have inside of you is our first step. You have taken the first step to major life changes, finding a therapist. Now let's work together in a solution focused way to help you reach your goals and continue to grow. You don't have to navigate your challenges alone. I will be here to be a thought partner and a guide along side you. I look forward to watching you grow.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session we will complete your intake, with the goal of understand what has encouraged you to take this first step into therapy. I want to understand you why and start unraveling what your goals are and what you believe are barriers to your success. I want to learn about your support system and the relationships you feel you need to set boundaries with. It is important to understand that your goals can and will change overtime, what you tell me in session one as to what you want to accomplish might look different by session three and that is okay!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Building relationships is one of my biggest strengths. Making people feel comfortable and supported is something I value most about myself. I am currently licensed in Indiana, Tennessee, Texas, Louisiana and Maryland, so I have more availability to help more people.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

When I decided to become a therapist the key component of it for me was being a support to anyone who needs it. Over a decade in and I still feel this way. Life is hard and heavy for everyone at different times. My role is to help you navigate those changes. I work closely with people who are experiencing transitions in life, anxiety, and who might need some additional support with ADHD. My goal is always to create an environment that is safe for you to explore your needs and wants in life. We will also work together to see what roles you are playing in areas where you are struggling the most. I can't create change for you, but I can help you determine what areas you need to grow and help you learn the tools to create the life you want for yourself.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Knowing why a behavior exists is important but changing it and creating new habits isn't easy. Working together to understand the why and also putting in the work to make the changes is an important part of growth. CBT is my favorite form of therapy and the practice I use most frequently.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is great in that it will allow us to practice together the skills you feel you need. We will spend time together working on communication, building boundaries, distress tolerance and emotional regulation. I love this method of therapy as it is skills focused and we can work together to practice real world uses for these skills.

Gender-affirming therapy

A lot of therapy is about finding out who we are and working towards who we want to be. The best way to do this is showing up as our authentic selves, but we can't do that if the space doesn't feel safe. I value the individual for who they are and want everyone to show up to their appointments know they will be respected. I do this by putting into practice gender affirming/person affirming care.

Motivational Interviewing

MI is a key aspect in rapport building with clients. It allows you to really understand what is is you are trying to achieve and why it is important to you.

Family Therapy

Creating a stronger core as a family is important. Sometimes it can be hard for everyone to feel heard and sometimes it is hard to hear what is being said. My role as a therapist in the family setting is to help everyone communicate effectively and work together as a unit to make manageable changes that work best for everyone.
