I earned my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Hodges University, and my BS in Criminal Justice from Florida Gulf Coast University. I started my private practice in 2022 after working for a national public mental health agency, which specializes in serious mental illness.

I am licensed mental health counselor in the State of Florida with 12 years of professional work experience. I also have a doctorate's degree in Clinical Psychology from my country of origin. My main language is Spanish, but I also provide services in English. I have vast experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with grief and loss, anger management, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I am seasoned in case management and navigating medical crises in the hospital environment. I enjoy helping my patients and families navigate end-of-life care planning. I am trained in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), brief CBT-I to treat Insomnia, and Guided Imagery to assist my patients with navigating a multitude of treatment needs. I am also certified in providing sexual assault survivor group counseling and psychoeducation. I love helping my patients see that they do have a purpose in this life and a reason to live it with happiness. I love seeing my clients learn techniques that they can independently use to continue to help themselves outside of the one-on-one time we have together. I have a Master of Arts degree in forensic psychology and have maintained a career within the criminal justice system for over two decades. In addition, I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor, in Missouri, for over eight years. I am also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. My purpose in life is to inspire, empower and support others so they can develop into, and function from, their best selves. This fueled my desire to form Stronger Than Fear, LLC, a company that offers coaching, therapy, and empowerment services, and to publish the Stronger Than Fear Empowerment Journal.

As a Therapist with over 25 years' experience, I work with children, adolescents, families, and individuals to strengthen relationships and overall functioning. My approach to counseling is the fundamental importance of emotional connections. We need to create and sustain healthy relationships with others that involved healthy boundaries and communication. Many things can disrupt our emotional connections with others and our goal together, is to repair and strengthen connections to promote healthy relationships. My therapeutic modalities are eclectic given the particular situation. I am trained in Cognitive Behavior and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Family Systems Therapy with a strength based, client centered approach. The warmth, attunement and understanding I have for my clients, helps me to create a connection of trust and respect within the therapeutic environment.
