Hi there I am Yaima, Do you feel like you are in a funk, anxious, depressed, unable to concentrate and preoccupied with everything going on in your life? Are you struggling to keep up with your relationships, work and health? Is it hard to be kind to yourself? Together, we can identify what's not working and get you back to balance. We'll use a whole self-approach, addressing the needs of your mind, body and spirit. Whether you're dealing with overwhelm feelings, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, adjustments to change/life transitions such as a job loss or unexpected medical diagnosis, loss and grief, caregiver issues or stress, codependency, anger management, adjustment to college, or substance use and abuse I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but I can assure you, you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hang-ups and habits holding you back and not letting you be your best version of yourself. Let's work together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

n our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing as well as review and start discussing past and present issues that are bringing you to therapy at this time. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

While treatment modalities will vary from client to client, CBT would be the main method of treatment being utilized throughout the course of these sessions. I also utilize other therapy types such as DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy. I employ psycho-educational experiences and utilize multiple ways of how people learn best (visual, verbal, kinesthetic, etc.) when in session and in choosing my materials for session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Skill development such as communication skills, social skills, self-awareness, self-esteem, general coping skills, etc. are a top priority in my work. Understanding how my clients learn best is also an important part of my work and the results are utilized in session to help each client maintain their ability to function on a daily basis.
