Are you experiencing frustration, confusion or turmoil in your life? Even to the point where you see no sense of direction while trying to navigate through life? At times, this can be overwhelming for individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, PTSD, including other mental health disorders. Hi! My name is Stephaney and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida with almost a decade of experience in treating adults and adolescents for various mental health challenges and co-occurring diagnoses.
I was inspired to become a therapist by my unique experience migrating to the United States at the age of 13 and attending middle school which was very challenging for me. Culture shock became my reality and one that would eventually lead me to “Severe anxiety.” Even with a very strong family support system, I felt alone and trapped by my own inner fears and self-defeating thoughts. Constant worry and fear of being bullied by my peers became my everyday experience.
Through all these obstacles, I was able to process my feelings and experiences with my faith in Jesus Christ, supportive family, and a few good friends. To this extent, I have come to recognize the benefits of a strong support system and the need for social and relational connection.
As a mental health counselor, I’m privileged to be a part of that support system for many people. I work with my clients to connect the dots between their thoughts, emotions, and actions, all while providing sound strategies to promote healthier thought processes. I believe that every human being deserves a chance to be heard and understood, and therapy has taught me that as human beings, we are more alike than different. So as your therapist, I’m excited to be a listening ear for you and help guide you toward your goals.
Do you find yourself struggling with feeling heard or being able to be fully present in the moment? Each person deserves the space to be heard, a place where they can be their authentic self.
I want to understand and help you work through any events or concerns that have caused you to seek out therapy. Whether you are struggling with feeling anxious, not wanting to get out of bed or do the things that you used to enjoy or have experienced a loss. Together we can identify what you need in order to live a more fulfilled life.
Seeking therapy can be a scary move and many people often feel that they have lost themselves so give yourself credit for making the first step! I enter each session ready to provide you with empathy, my undivided attention, and that safe space so that you can overcome whatever challenges brought you here.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate life's challenges alone. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, navigating a major life transition, working through past trauma, or simply seeking a clearer understanding of yourself, I provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space to help you heal and grow.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who relocated from NY State to Florida and have been practicing for over 30 years. With over 17 years of experience in social services and 7 years as a practicing therapist, I have developed a deep appreciation for the power of connection, the courage of my clients, and the transformative nature of safe, consistent therapeutic work. My motivation to work in mental health stems from witnessing, time and again, the profound change that occurs when individuals are truly seen, heard, and supported in a space where they feel emotionally safe.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. I moved to Florida from Nashville but have roots in Mississippi and Virginia. I graduated from the University of Phoenix in April of 2014 with a Bachelors of Science in Health Administration. I used that degree to enroll at Capella University where I earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in March of 2021. My passion for counseling started when I was very young. In my teenage years I participated in groups that worked to prevent teen suicide. This interest eventually worked its way into my adult life as a career in the mental health field.
My first position after graduating with my Masters was assisting individuals whose substance abuse lead to involvement in the criminal justice system. Building on that, I also have experience with Veterans' issues, grief and loss, eating disorders, LGBTQ+, relationships, depression, anxiety, social fears and many other mental health diagnoses.
I don’t believe that there is a one size fits all approach to an individual’s mental health. I use a wide range of techniques to best help my clients to achieve the goals they set forth during their time in treatment by developing strategies and coping skills to achieve optimal mental health.
