Darlene Amin
Darlene M. Amin, M.A., LMHC has over 15 years of experience as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I work with adults and specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, co-dependency, and addiction. I am also EMDR trained and have helped clients process early trauma, i.e. before language, childhood emotional neglect, anxiety, OCD and addictions.
I have recently taken an interest in Integrative Mental Health (IMH) and I’m working toward certification. (IMH) is the understanding that mind, body, and spirit are interconnected and influence each other.
I am also certified in Mindfulness and Meditation practices, and I am an LGBTQ+ ally. I have a plethora of modalities and interventions to apply to your mental health or social concerns, including Integrative Mental Health (IMH) and I’m working toward certification. (IMH) is the understanding that mind, body, and spirit are interconnected and influence each other. Complimentary methods are explored to reduce symptoms and create a healthy lifestyle that will incorporate all aspects of wellness for a well-rounded life experience.
First session
During our first session, I will provide an orientation to therapy in general including rights, responsibilities and confidentiality. I will explore your physical, spiritual, social and mental wellness, strengths, abilities and needs. Then, I will provide a safe space to present your concerns and goals. I will provide my ability to address your concerns, and schedule upcoming appointments if you decide to continue working together.
Strengths
I love teaching coping skills to help people manage symptoms. I teach breathwork, mindfulness, meditation, and ACT diffusion techniques. In addition, to teaching coping skills, I facilitate exploration and processing emotional wounds, provide alternative perspectives to consider, and help with decision making.
