Many come to therapy for social anxiety because of childhood trauma and how it has manifested in their adult lives. Often this manifests in feelings of poor self-confidence, poor self-worth, and poor self-confidence. At its root, the fundamental belief of those who have social anxiety is the belief, “I am not enough.” Clients get into the habit of comparing themselves to others and it makes them feel inadequate and insecure. Over time clients begin to avoid situations that elicit their anxiety, particularly social situations. This can lead to social isolation and loneliness. Clients will present with complaints of frequent panic attacks, not having a romantic partner, not having friends, not being happy in their jobs and feeling disconnected from life. I was born in Lima-Peru and moved to moved to South Florida when I was 16 years old. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida International University and then continued to pursue my Master’s Degree at Carlos Albizu University. I love being a therapist and have the opportunity to help people create, build and obtain the best version of themselves.

After graduating from the University of Maryland School of Social Work in Baltimore, I relocated to South Florida. After several years practicing law, I realized I wanted to spend the rest of my career helping others from a behavioral health perspective. After two years treating clients in a chemical dependency hospital, followed by a long-term substance use facility, I served as a behavioral health counselor for several years at a local high school.

I specialize in LGBTQ+ affirming therapy; I am a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). I am an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) and provide assessment/treatment to assist with management of ADHD symptoms.
