Hi there! My name is Sarah Farlough and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Louisiana and Texas. I have 7+ years experience working in the mental health field. I am very passionate and determined to understand your individual needs while providing support, and empowerment during your healing journey. Together we will identify stressors and create goals to help navigate change in your life. I am always opened to new learning opportunities and experiences to assist me in becoming a better therapist for my clients, community, team members and myself. I look forward to meeting you and assisting you in your new chapter!
I believe building a supportive, trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship is essential for meaningful change. I meet clients where they are and work alongside them to develop treatment goals that align with their values, strengths, and desired outcomes.
My specialties areas include: anxiety, relationship difficulties, life challenges, childhood trauma, ADHD, self-esteem, and stress management.
I enjoy working with individuals who are open to change and have a desire to grow, even if they feel uncertain about how to move forward. You may feel motivated to improve your life but unsure how to get there, and that’s okay. If you’re open, curious, and willing to engage in the process, we can work together to explore your experiences, build practical skills, and develop the insight needed to help you create meaningful, lasting change.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT helps us understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work to shift them in a way that feels realistic and sustainable. In our sessions, we will focus on making these tools practical and applicable to your daily life.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) integrates cognitive techniques with mindfulness to increase awareness of thought patterns and emotional responses. In our sessions, I use mindfulness exercises and grounding techniques to help you stay connected to the present moment. Together, we’ll work on strengthening your ability to observe your thoughts and feelings with greater clarity, self-compassion and less judgment.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
At the core of my work is creating a space where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and accepted without judgement. I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to direct you, but to walk alongside you offering empathy, support, and guidance as you explore your thoughts and feelings. Through this process, you’re supported in developing deeper self-understanding and moving toward growth in a way that feels authentic and at your own pace.
Integrative
I believe therapy should be as unique as you are. That’s why I use an integrative approach, combining different techniques based on what feels most helpful and relevant to you. Some sessions may focus on practical tools and coping strategies, while others may involve deeper reflection or mindfulness work. Together, we’ll find a balance that supports you in feeling understood, building insight, and creating meaningful change in your life.

A therapy session should be a “safe space” to talk about your problems and even your deepest traumas. Miss Farlough provides just that. This was my first ever therapy session and I feel great after speaking with her. ♥️
