I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can show up honestly without feeling judged, pressured, or like you have to have everything figured out first. I work with adults who are trying to manage the emotional weight of everyday life while also making sense of patterns, experiences, or stressors that may be keeping them stuck. My goal is to help clients feel more grounded, self-aware, and confident in their ability to navigate challenges both inside and outside of therapy.

Hi there, I primarily work in substance use recovery (abstinence and harm reduction) and trauma recovery. I also have specialized training in treating anxiety, depression, and sleep issues/insomnia. My treatment orientation is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy concepts, however the foundation of my early training was Psychodynamic. I have been trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, STAIR (Skills Training in Affective and Interpersonal Regulation), and Seeking Safety for trauma treatment. When treating anxiety, I take a CBT, or exposure approach with skill-building. For depression I utilize CBT concepts, or behavioral activation with skill-building. For sleep issues, I work with the CBT for insomnia treatment model. These are just a few examples of treatment approaches I utilize. I am relational focused, which to me means finding a plan that works best for you, practicing cultural humility and not trying to fit a round peg in a square hole. I look forward to working with you.

Hello and Welcome! Finding a therapist to work with is a challenging task. It’s time consuming. Finding the right therapist, a therapist that you believe is a good fit for you, is even more challenging. I’m going to tell you more about myself and my background to help you decide if I could be the right fit for you. I take a humanistic and person-centered approach to therapy. In humanistic psychology the belief is that each person is a distinct, individual being. A humanistic approach focuses on understanding ourselves and our complex emotions in relation to the broader aspects of our lives including relationships, career, family systems, and society. In non-clinical terms, I believe that our life experiences help shape us and it’s important to understand how the emotions and thoughts derived from those experiences impact us in the present. It’s important to me that any prospective client knows that I value connection in the therapy room. I have always believed that the most important aspect of good or effective therapy is the therapeutic relationship held between therapist and client. If I want to help a potential client explore and understand complex emotions, thoughts, and experiences then it’s essential that they feel comfortable doing so. Taking a person-centered approach to therapy means knowing that each individual client will process and experience emotions in a different way. I will utilize different therapeutic interventions based on individual client needs because I don’t believe there is a one size fits all answer to progress.

I utilize a positive theoretical orientation which assumes that all individuals possess an innate desire for well-balanced emotional/mental health. I believe a person enters therapy with a strong wish, whether conscious or unconscious, to overcome obstacles and free themselves from constraints that are holding them back. I find that everyone needs a slightly different approach to accomplish these goals, so I adjust in technique for each specific challenge. I truly enjoy the experience of guiding my clients through this process and consider it a privilege to play such an important role in a person's life. “Crying does not indicate that you are weak. I use a strengths-based approach to help my clients see the choices that are always at their disposal to unlearn past harmful messaging or combat unrelenting present symptoms. As a Black woman, I always integrate the importance of diversity. Playing small to blend in doesn't serve anyone. My work also focuses on boundaries, challenging thoughts, and improving communication skills. I integrate role plays, affirmations, accountability, and direct introspection exercises to aid clients in quieting the noise of societal norms to embrace their true joy. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. Originally from Taiwan, I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University. Throughout my career, I have worked with a diverse range of individuals and communities, including children and families, adolescents, transitional-age youth, young adults, older adults, men, women, couples, LGBTQ+ individuals, and justice-involved populations. I am fluent in English, Mandarin, and Taiwanese. I understand that our cultural backgrounds, family experiences, and life circumstances can shape who we are and influence the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. My clinical experience has given me a broad understanding of the unique challenges people face at different stages of life. I strive to create a respectful and supportive environment where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered. In today's fast-paced world, many people find themselves overwhelmed by daily responsibilities and may be disconnected from what brings meaning and fulfillment to their lives. It is common to push aside difficult thoughts and emotions simply to get through the day. Over time, however, this can leave us feeling stuck, isolated, or uncertain about how to move forward. I want to assure you that it is okay to reach out and talk it out. Whether you are navigating a major life transition, experiencing relationship difficulties, seeking greater self-understanding, or simply looking for a safe space to process your experiences, therapy can provide an opportunity to gain insight and perspective. My approach is direct yet empathic, collaborative, and solution-focused, while remaining grounded in genuine compassion and practical feedback. Together, I can help you explore the challenges you are facing, identify patterns that may be holding you back, build upon your strengths, and work toward meaningful, positive, and lasting change.

Are you constantly worried about your problems and having difficulties controlling your anxious thoughts? Do you feel sad and low motivation to do the activities you once enjoyed? Have you experienced recent or past trauma that you have tried to avoid thinking about but keeps replaying in your mind? Is your child having issues managing his emotions and not sure how to help them? Having difficulties sharing how you feel with others? If you answered yes to any of these questions, I can help guide and empower you to meet your therapeutic goals. I have been providing for the last ten years individual therapy to children, adolescents and adults as well as family therapy. As your therapist my goal is for you to have a safe space to share your thoughts and feelings and feel that someone is listening to you without judgment. Hello! I am Dawniel (don Yell) and I’ve been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2006 and have been working in private practice since 2020. Recently I became an EMDR certified therapist. Alongside that, I draw on cognitive-behavioral, dialectical, and mindfulness approaches, always centered on your strengths, not just your struggles. I am passionate about working with people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress or who have been dealing with the effects of trauma or grief.

Hi, I’m Lucila Bravo, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California with 14 years of experience. I take a humanistic, culturally responsive approach and work with children, teens, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and self-esteem. My background includes working with youth, foster care systems, and correctional mental health, which has shaped me into a grounded, solution-focused therapist. I offer a balance of compassion and honest feedback, supporting you while also helping you identify patterns that may be holding you back so you can move forward with greater clarity and confidence. Clients often experience me as warm, dependable, and adaptable. I’m here to support you while helping you set meaningful goals, find your voice, and build the confidence to advocate for yourself. Rebecca McWhorter, LCSW #87376 I believe therapy starts with meeting you where you are. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and individualized, focusing on what you want to work on rather than simply focusing on just a diagnosis. I have experience working with individuals across the lifespan and from diverse backgrounds. My clinical experience includes more than eight years in an Enhanced Outpatient Program, where I worked with individuals experiencing complex and severe mental health concerns across a wide range of diagnoses. This experience taught me that every person is different and that therapy should be flexible and tailored to the individual. I draw from different therapeutic approaches and adapt them to your needs, strengths, and goals. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, develop practical coping skills, better understand yourself, and work toward meaningful change. I have experience with most mental health concerns and diagnoses, though eating disorders are outside my primary area of specialty. Through Telehealth, I am able to connect with clients in a variety of settings and continue doing work that I find deeply meaningful. One of my guiding principles in therapy is that my advice is a direction to explore, not a fact that you have to follow. We will work together to determine what actually works for you. What helps one person may not help another, and I believe therapy should allow room to try different approaches, learn from the experience, and adjust along the way.
