New to Grow
I’m Edgard Villa, an LCSW and U.S. military veteran specializing in men’s mental health and working with active-duty service members and veterans. I provide personalized, evidence-based therapy for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and major life transitions. My approach is straightforward, practical, and clinically grounded, helping clients build resilience and create meaningful, lasting change.
During the first session, clients will have an opportunity to share what brings them to therapy, discuss their concerns, and identify their goals. They will leave with a clearer understanding of the treatment process and the next steps we can take together.
I bring a calm, straightforward, and supportive approach to my sessions. I listen without judgment, communicate honestly, and help clients identify practical strategies for managing challenges, building resilience, and working toward meaningful change.
My ideal client is an adolescent age 15 or older or an adult experiencing anxiety, trauma, adjustment difficulties, stress, or low motivation. They may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure about how to move forward but are open to support and ready to make meaningful changes. I also enjoy working with men, active-duty service members, veterans, and individuals navigating major life transitions.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we identify unhelpful patterns and develop practical strategies that support meaningful change. When appropriate, I also offer walk-and-talk therapy, which combines therapeutic conversation with movement in a comfortable outdoor setting to reduce stress, encourage reflection, and support overall well-being.
