New to Grow
My name is Bolor Purvee, and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) committed to supporting individuals, couples, and families especially those with young children as they navigate life’s challenges and strengthen their relationships. Rooted in trauma-informed care and culturally responsive practices, I strive to create a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and supported. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse communities, including those facing systemic barriers. I have supported clients through a range of challenges such as immigration trauma, cultural integration, homelessness, anxiety, depression, grief, identity exploration, and relationship conflicts. My therapeutic approach integrates collaborative systems therapy, trauma-informed care, and humanistic-existential principles. I believe in meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them as they uncover their strengths, heal from past wounds, and move toward lives of meaning, connection, and empowerment. Whether I’m fostering personal growth or advocating for systemic change, my mission remains the same: to inspire healing, build resilience, and nurture authentic human connection. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing clients walk out of my office feeling empowered, heard, and deeply understood.
In our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming space where we begin getting to know each other. I’ll invite you to share what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you’re hoping for—at your own pace, without pressure or judgment. My approach is collaborative and empathic, so we’ll work together to understand your concerns, explore your goals, and begin building a sense of trust and safety. I’ll also ask some questions to get a fuller picture of your background, current challenges, and supports, which helps me tailor our work to your needs. If it feels helpful, we can begin identifying patterns, emotions, or areas you’d like to focus on moving forward. Additionally, we’ll briefly go over logistics like confidentiality, session structure, and expectations for our work together. If at any point it seems that your needs may be better supported by a different level of care or specialized provider, I will approach that conversation with care and transparency, and support you in finding the right fit. Overall, the first session is about creating a foundation where you feel heard, respected, and supported.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the way I intentionally blend warmth, cultural responsiveness, and trauma-informed care with a collaborative and humanistic foundation. I don’t see therapy as a one-size-fits-all process—rather, I meet each client where they are and tailor our work to honor their unique story, strengths, and lived experiences. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with individuals, couples, and families—especially those with young children—through a systems lens, while also holding space for each person’s inner world. My approach integrates collaborative systems therapy with humanistic-existential principles, meaning I focus not only on reducing symptoms but also on helping clients find meaning, deepen self-awareness, and strengthen their relationships. I also bring a strong commitment to working with diverse communities and those impacted by systemic barriers, including experiences related to immigration, cultural identity, and access to resources. Clients often share that they feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood in our work together. Ultimately, what sets my work apart is my focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where healing and growth can unfold naturally. My goal is for clients to leave sessions feeling more empowered, connected, and equipped to move forward with greater clarity and resilience.
I’m best positioned to serve clients who are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and are open to growth, even if they’re not quite sure where to start. Many of the people I work well with are navigating anxiety, life transitions, identity exploration, relationship challenges, or feeling stuck or disconnected from themselves. I especially connect with individuals who value a collaborative, authentic therapeutic relationship—those who want a space where they can show up as they are, be heard without judgment, and gently challenged when needed. Clients who are curious about their inner world, open to exploring emotions, and interested in building self-awareness tend to benefit most from my approach. I also bring a strong sensitivity to cultural, bicultural, and bilingual experiences, and I’m well positioned to support clients exploring issues related to identity, belonging, and navigating multiple cultural contexts. Overall, I work best with clients whose goals include increasing self-understanding, healing from past experiences, strengthening relationships, and moving toward a more grounded and fulfilling way of living.
Humanistic
Humanistic therapy is a warm, person-centered approach that sees you as more than your struggles. It views you as a whole person with inherent worth, potential, and the capacity for growth. Rooted in empathy, authenticity, and non-judgment, it creates a safe space where you can explore your feelings, better understand yourself, and move toward a more fulfilling, meaningful life.
Gestalt
Gestalt therapy is an experiential, present-focused approach that gently brings your awareness to what you’re feeling, sensing, and doing in the here and now. With an empathic and curious stance, it helps you notice patterns, reconnect with parts of yourself, and take ownership of your experiences—supporting a deeper sense of wholeness, clarity, and self-acceptance.
