Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York and I've been helping people in various settings for 24 years. I assist clients in getting in touch with their authentic self. This can look like being free from limiting beliefs, reacting less in stressful situations, and living life according to your values instead of what others think you should do or be. By learning how to relate to thoughts differently, you can experience more freedom in making healthy life choices and make decisions in line with your interests and values.
In our first session together, I want to learn all about your life and what brings you to therapy. In addition, our first session is a great time to share your goals for therapy. And of course I invite your questions about my approach, how the therapy process works, and what to expect from our time together.
I prioritize creating a safe and inviting space for my clients. Clients have told me that I'm a great listener and that they feel validated and cared for. I collaborate with my clients in creating an actionable plan and a set of affirming steps so that they can begin building new habits , try out new coping strategies, and experience an enhanced quality of life.
In my years of experience, I've learned that there's not one treatment that fits all. This is why I use an eclectic approach. Each person I work with is the expert in their life. Sometimes a psychodynamic approach can be helpful to integrate experiences from the past. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help clients build a new relationship to thoughts. And mindfulness practices can teach presence, patience, non reactivity and non attachment. In addition, I place a lot of emphasis on the relationship I create with clients. I will do my best to help you feel supported, heard, and not judged.
