New to Grow
Hi there! I am a compassionate, client-centered therapist dedicated to creating a safe, supportive space where individuals can explore their experiences and move toward meaningful change. I aim to support clients in understanding their emotions, develop effective coping skills and build resilience. I believe therapy works best as a collaborative process and I strive to meet each person with empathy, curiosity, and respect for their unique story. My goal is to help clients feel empowered, grounded and capable of creating the life they envision.
I am very much a "come as you are", casual yet professional therapist. Laughter really is the best medicine. Join me with a cup of coffee and let's chat about what brings you here. I'll ask you a lot of questions and give you plenty of time to ask me questions. We'll wrap the session by setting some attainable goals for you to work towards until our next session.
I spent over 7 years working in home based hospice, and another 8 years in home care with the elderly homebound in NYC. This experience helped me to develop a deep understanding of grief and the role of caregivers. I also have a background in substance use treatment, making me uniquely prepared to help a wide variety of individuals.
Specializing in grief makes me uniquely qualified to help those who have experienced losses, or who are anticipating a loss. I am proficient in guiding those who are caregivers, supporting them through the nuances of grief, caring for others, and caring for themselves. I also help many people manage chronic or situational depression and anxiety, building coping skills and gaining the confidence to move towards their goals.
CBT is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. It helps people identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge them, and replace them with more balanced, realistic perspectives.
I'll help you cultivate present-moment awareness and non-judgemental acceptance. This helps individuals notice thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations without immediately reacting to them, reducing stress and increasing emotional regulation. By strengthening our awareness and compassion towards ourselves, it supports more intentional responses to challenges rather than automatic, unhelpful patterns.
This collaborative approach is designed to strengthen an individual's motivation and commitment to change. This style helps people articulate their own reasons for making positive changes.
