Hi! I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 8 years of experience. I received my Masters from Adelphi University, where I honed my passion for mental health advocacy.

With a unique blend of personal and professional experience, I bring a distinct strength to therapy that is rooted in genuine nurturing.

Specializing and certified in anger management and anxiety, I weave a tapestry of support for diverse populations, employing a compassionate and evidence-based approach to guide individuals towards lasting mental well-being. With a commitment to fostering resilience, I am dedicated to helping others rewrite their stories and embrace the full spectrum of their mental health journey.

First session

In our initial session, the focus is on building a foundation of trust and rapport. We'll engage in open dialogue to explore your goals, concerns, and what led you to seek therapy. I aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space, where you feel heard and understood. Together, we'll begin forging a therapeutic alliance, laying the groundwork for a collaborative journey towards your well-being.

Strengths

With a unique blend of personal and professional experience, I bring a distinct strength to therapy that is rooted in genuine nurturing. Drawing from both my life journey and clinical expertise, I foster a compassionate and authentic connection with clients. This genuine approach creates a therapeutic space where individuals can explore, heal, and grow, guided by a therapist who values empathy and understanding at its core.

Ideal clients

I am well-positioned to serve individuals navigating a range of challenges, including anxiety, anger management, and various life transitions. My expertise extends to adults, adolescent, and diverse populations seeking a supportive therapeutic space. Whether addressing stressors, fostering resilience, or navigating personal growth; I am dedicated to guiding clients towards a path of healing and empowerment.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

With a wealth of experience in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), I bring a nuanced approach to help individuals navigate their mental well-being. My practice is rooted in empowering clients to identify and reshape negative thought patterns, fostering lasting change. Through targeted interventions and collaborative strategies, I guide individuals toward a path of self-discovery, resilience, and improved mental health.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is an evidence-based form of cognitive-behavioral therapy specifically designed to help clients deal with trauma-related symptoms, particularly those associated with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). CPT focuses on challenging and modifying maladaptive beliefs related to the trauma, aiding clients in developing a more balanced and realistic understanding of their experiences. I educated clients about CPT, explaining how trauma can affect thoughts and feelings, and the role of cognitive distortions in maintaining distress. Building trust a create a safe and supportive environment where the client feels comfortable discussing their trauma. The clients and I collaboratively set clear, achievable goals for therapy, tailored to the client's specific needs and trauma-related challenges.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy (MBT) integrates principles of mindfulness—such as present-moment awareness, acceptance, and non-judgment—with traditional therapeutic techniques. This approach is particularly effective for reducing stress, anxiety, depression, and enhancing overall emotional regulation and well-being. Key mindfulness-based therapies include Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).

Strength-Based

Strength-Based Therapy (SBT) is an approach that focuses on clients’ strengths, resources, and capacities rather than their problems and deficits. This positive and empowering approach helps clients build resilience, foster self-efficacy, and enhance overall well-being. By recognizing and leveraging their strengths, clients can create more effective solutions to their challenges.

Great connection. I felt like I was talking to a person and not a therapist. Looking forward to getting to work and furthering our connection.

Obviously well versed in her craft. Looking forward to learning, growing, discovering, and uncovering. She's a straight shooter and hopefully my empathetic/sensitive self can adapt, survive, and even thrive.
