I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in New York for the past 3 years. I obtained my Dual Master in Arts and Master in Education degrees in Mental Health Counseling at Teachers College, Columbia University. I have experience providing services to culturally diverse children, adolescents, and adults in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. I specialize in treating Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Family Conflict, and Stress Management, and more.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing to help create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
My priority is being empathic, genuine, and having unconditional positive regard for you while collaborating as a team to achieve your therapeutic goal. I believe this is key to providing you with the tools and confidence for the future of your mental health. I aim to create an authentic, compassionate, and safe environment that is inclusive for all.
I use Person-centered therapy to meet clients where they are in their journey and provide active listening in an empathic, open, and non-judgmental space.
I use CBT to help clients identify unhelpful thinking patterns and explore the impact on their emotions and behaviors.
I use Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help bring and maintain an awareness of the parts of clients' thoughts and behaviors that may be adding to their presenting issues.
I use Psychodynamic therapy to explore past experiences, relationships, and upbringing in order to understand all parts of a client's present self.
