I consider myself a direct and collaborative therapist. My style centers on active listening, practical tools you can use to cope outside of sessions, and respect for your personal story. I will always come from a place of open mindedness while providing honest feedback and compassionate guidance. My goal is to create a space in which you feel understood and comfortable enough to be honest.
Upon completing the intake process, our first session would include discussions around current challenges and coping habits, how difficult emotions are handled, and identifying what is to be achieved through therapy. I am open to any questions as we determine whether we're a good fit.
While I make you feel safe to speak freely about your experiences without judgement, I also challenge unhealthy thought patterns so we can collaborate on healthier coping skills to help build resilience.
My ideal client is able to take accountability for past behaviors and comes to sessions with an open mind and will to explore the thoughts and feelings that lead to said behaviors. Someone who makes an effort to be consistent and is willing to take the time to work together and come up with healthy ways to cope with issues they face.
I have helped many clients manage their anxiety by using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to challenge recurring thoughts. Together, we'll explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact. By understanding these connections, we can work on reshaping your thinking patterns to reduce stress and help you lead a calmer, more balanced life.
