Hey! I am Dr. Martecia "Tecii" Oates and I am a licensed professional counselor servicing clients in CO, FL and OK. I work primarily with athletes, college students, young professionals, adults (18-40) and teenagers. I aim to be a helping hand to clients who are navigating life transitions, experiencing symptoms related to anxiety and depression, as well as clients who are struggling with self-esteem and low confidence.

I have spent years working with individuals and helping them through addiction, trauma, anxiety and every day troubles. Often co-occurring disorders such as codependency and depression live just under the surface and make it hard to sustain a life of meaning and purpose. When these issues are addressed, true healing is possible. I love to assist people in discovering their true self by working through their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. My practice incorporates the behavioral sciences by utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavior therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy in order to promote emotional healing and spiritual wholeness. My goal is to provide the client with the coping skills needed to face life's challenges without turning to outside sources.

I received my MA in Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida. I have five years' experience. I did counseling at a housing center, with individuals experiencing interpersonal conflicts with members of their family. I also did counseling with the adult through Geriatrics population at a Community Mental Health Center.

Previously, I worked for 17 years as an Emergency Public Safety Communications Operator for one of the largest law enforcement agencies in the nation, but I decided to pursue a career doing what I love…helping others become the best version of themselves.
