Hello I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. I received my master’s in psychology and mental health counseling from Marist College in Poughkeeie. NY. I have been practicing for 18 years. I work with clients ages 13 and above helping to manage trauma as well as other stressors from life and teach coping skills to not just manage symptoms but live the best version of the clients self.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session we will spend some time getting to know one another and setting expectations talk about preferences and then we will dive right into what are the identified problems and create a plan identifying goals for the moving forward to direct our future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having been in the field for 18 years I have found that I am honest and transparent which my clients appreciate as I do not play games. I get straight to the point. I meet my clien't where they are at. I do not push. I will help to motivate and Identify goals, a plan and then provide accountabiltz

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I have been using an Eclectic Therapy in my 18 years of practice. I meet the client where they are at and use a variety of techniques based in the patient needs. I may have a patient who is impulsive and needs to think about their thoughts and feelings before reacting So I will start with Mindfulness. Then I may switch to imagery to help the client think of a happy place.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT when working with clients for the past eighteen years. CBT has helped many client’s challenge and reframe reoccurring thoughts and manage life stressors. I help client to use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. I then assist client’s in using that knowledge to change thinking patterns, which helps lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Collaborative Management and Assessment of Suicidality (CAMS)

I was trained in this modality on January of 2024. I have found this to be useful with both young adult and adult who are struggling with consistent ideation. This modality helps to identify the drivers of the ideation to help achieve stability to move to other areas of treatment.

Motivational Interviewing

I have been using motivational interviewing in my practice for many years. I have found that meeting the client where they are at and helping the client to find what works for them tends to drive their treatment in the direction the client wants not the direction that others or even their loved ones who encourage the treatment may desire.
