Welcome to my virtual office. I am currently offering TeleHealth sessions. I am a LCSW, licensed psychotherapist with 20 years experience, and 25 years social services/ministries outreach, providing individual and family therapy by utilizing a strengths-based, collaborative, holistic approach, allowing me to gain a clearer sense of my clients' Physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual needs, and finding viable, alternative solutions to reach a more balanced and optimal level of coping/functioning. I endeavor to conduct psychotherapy with individuals who are challenged with a crisis, substance abuse/addictions, Porn/sexual addictions, dual diagnosis, and related codependency issues; relationships, depression, grief and loss, PTSD and anxiety-related issues, adjustment/transitional, career/vocational; Additionally, I offer Premarital counseling to establish a firm foundation for marriage; because "after every wedding comes a marriage." I utilize a holistic approach for crisis counseling, as well as evidenced-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing/coaching, which facilitates my clients' ability to cope/function better with negative and self-defeating thoughts and behaviors. I firmly believe in providing a collaborative and supportive environment to maximize the therapeutic experience and identify what strengths and resources clients have to create meaningful change in their lives. For those who desire a Christian, Biblical approach, I also offer a faith-based perspective combined with psychological/systems theory I received my masters degree from Florida International University, and my B.A degree in psychology/pastoral/Biblical counseling from Southeastern College. I am a member of Phi Alpha and Alpha Chi honors societies respectively.

My therapeutic style, which is rooted in evidence-based, effective and practical Cognitive Behavioral, and Motivational Therapy, is coaching, holistic, strengths-based (utilizing clients’ own strengths and resources), learning and applying healthier coping skills, and finding viable solutions to address underlying reasons for debilitating substance abuse, eating disorders, porn/sex addiction, and other addictive behaviors, while assisting in finding a more balanced, happier, healthier and wholesome lifestyle. Additionally, I offer Premarital counseling to establish a firm foundation for marriage; because "after every wedding comes a marriage."

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have a background of 25 years linked with the concept of CBT, the process of which is to make peace with the past, return to the present (mindfulness), avoiding worrying about the future, returning to a state of present mindfulness, where acceptance and gratitude can lead to more peace, serenity, and contentment, vs discontentment.

Motivational Interviewing

I have 25 years experience in counseling, using Motivational interviewing, which utilizes the process of CBT to change negative thoughts/perceptions to more positive and productive ones, motivating the client to follow the treatment plan to achieve ones goals.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Throughout my tenor of 25 years as a therapist, I have found that using CBT concepts, and learned strengths-based therapy coping skills, facilitating finding and implementing solutions to overcome the client's problems.
