I am primarily a CBT therapist. I love equipping people to manage and cope in their day to day lives. The goal is to help you understand you, learn self compassion, build confidence, and understand why you do what you do by identifying the patterns that keep repeating. In CBT you learn problem solving and a deeper awareness of your actual needs and how to meet them.
I offer tools that teach couple better communication skills, conflict resolution and how to work together as a team. I teach couple their patterns and ways to change those patterns through a deeper understanding of what their partner in trying to communicate to them. I also help couples identify the differences in their process styles and how to speak and understand what partner needs and is trying to say to them. This helps solve miscommunication problems and helps the couple be less offended and hurt be one another.
I combine dialectics with CBT to help help regulate emotional, understand what your emotions are trying to communicate and build new beneficial outcomes. DBT helps with thought and behavioral patterns recognition and better communication with one’s self by address the beliefs that people have that stop them from reaching their goals.
The goal here is to understand where the family is functional and what is hindering the family from functioning well. Tools and skills will taught to build communication and decrease conflicts.
