(she/her)
Hi, my name is Chanti DeCarish, I graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have worked in mental health for 13 years and as a practicing clinician for the past 5 years. I enjoy working with youth and their families to find common ground and create a more functional and enjoyable family atmosphere. I also enjoy helping couples find new ways of connecting and communicating.
Clients can expect to get to know each other and move at their own pace. We will work collaboratively to achieve the goals you set.
My greatest strength is to be able to see the unseen and hear the unspoken. My clients often find I am most helpful because I bring out the unconsciousness of their actions and thoughts. They are able to see what is holding them back.
The families and youth I serve are tired and feel hopeless, often feeling they are out of options and out of patience, not only with each other but themselves and the resources they've already tried. I enjoy working with them to help them find new hope and the willingness to continue to fight not only for their families but for happy and enjoyable lives. My clients feel anxiety, worry, sadness, hopelessness, confusion, irritability, instability of mood, difficulty with boundary setting. My clients have a desire to find help, are ready for change and are seeking clarity and understanding.

Family Therapy
The marital dyad is just as important as the familial system. Working to strength the parenting partnership will increase the satisfaction with your over family life and decrease the dysfunction.
Narrative
You are the author of your story, i just want to help my clients own their truth. Take hold of the narrative and rewrite it so it actually fits your goals and values. We will take stock of what's important and where the value was placed and together decide if it fits the narrative you want for yourself.
Structural Family Therapy
Adding bits of the structural family therapy model along with psychoeducation is crucial for increasing family functioning. Working through the family dynamics will not feel like work but it will be a work in progress to see change.
Trauma Informed Care
As a former partial hospitalization and foster care clinician, I have worked with youth and families with not only a diverse cultural background, but also a diverse trauma history as well. There is a space for you with me.

Open-minded: She listens without judgment, but she doesn’t let me spiral or stay stuck in my emotions. Instead, she helps me slow down, calm my thoughts, and look at situations from all sides , not just my own. Challenging: She holds me accountable in the best way. When I tell her about something someone did that upset me, she always asks, “But did you consider how they might have felt in that moment?” She pushes me to take responsibility, not just point fingers.
