Hi. I'm C.E. English-El, known by most as Ce. I've been a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Therapist for over 25 years and a Living Coach for over 10 years. My counseling style is eclectic and whole person centered with a wellness orientation. Not only am I good at connecting with people I enjoy the process of engaging, learning, growing and moving . My wealth of experience and exposure is grounded in the addiction treatment milieu where I evolved from a fledgling counselor to a director of clinical services for adult and adolescent inpatient and outpatient programs. I have authored and lectured extensively in the addiction treatment arena. Other areas of expertise include Emotional Intelligence (EI) development, Mindfulness appreciation, coaching well-being, relaxation response, self-care and family connections. Academically, I have a Bachelors degree in Social Work from the University of DC, a Masters degree in Education and Human Development from The George Washington University, and a post graduate certification in Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. I'm thorough in assessment and delivery of services with integrity and commitment. On a personal level, I'm a people person by nature and involved in this helping profession by choice. I’m a country boy from Long Island who’s been living the addiction recovery platform for over 30 years with the Florida sand between my toes and living with meaning and purpose.
My first sessions are always geared towards determining if we can make a connection that will allow us to move forward towards a professional working relationship. I'll ask for demographics and family history only as it facilitates the feeling out process as I'm relatively transparent in areas of common knowledge. I'm not a regression therapist so my focus is present centered and future oriented.
My commitment to give the very best that I have to offer at every session is a cornerstone of my effectiveness as a therapist. The ability to connect with others in a way that's nonthreatening is a gift I've learned and share with no strings attached. I'm the first to admit that I'm not for everyone, but know I'm consistent, truthful and patient with the process of facilitating measurable change.
As a change agent and behavioral therapist my approach is grounded in assisting member to identifying behavioral changes that will improve or enhance their sense of purpose, wellbeing and quality of life.
In SFBT the efforts are focused towards assisting the member to identify what they want their life to be about and what they are willing and able to do to realize their goals and aspirations.
